Quote# 54334

If atheists are real, why are they still trying to convince themselves that they're right and getting personal with Christians when they ask questions? Is being an atheist the trendy thing to now for angry people?

[It's amazing how skeptical these people can be about anything that's not believing in an invisible sky dweller]

Mister Spak

If christianists are real, why are they still trying to convince themselves that they're right and getting personal with Americans when they ask questions? Is being a chriatianist the trendy thing to now for angry people?

I'm sure every atheist lokbum meets is "angry". And lokbum will not take a look at these encounters and guess what the common denominator is.

I'm not an atheist because I'm angry. I'm angry because of those who feel education is a trend.

Because some people have difficulty in hearing.

to be fair i can get quite angry

Malkavian Jeff

We're just trying to convince you that your D&D religion doesn't make sense (no offense to any D&D players on FSTDT).

Old Viking

I'll be more than happy to answer your questions. But please don't preach at me.

"If atheists are real"

... Oh how I wish that I could say "Oh that's a new one." But of course I keep hearing this everywhere. But it was at least a bit of a different phrasing. Normally all of them say something along the lines of "The so-called atheists" and then proceed to give their "explanation" of why there is no such thing as an atheist.

@Malkavian Jeff: No offense taken, but I do want to point out that I have yet to meet a Christian pastor that is capable of casting even 0-level orisons let alone high level cleric spells.

If atheists are real

Well, someone seems to be typing/writing/speaking about there being no god. If we're not real, where do you think it's coming from?

12/17/2008 7:58:11 PM

Pule Thamex

Hey buddy, when you ask a question like that, do you mind me getting personal with you?

Firstly, this false characterization of yours of atheists as being angry just because they cut through the fundie's dense verbiage with their rapier thrusts of wit and their saber-like slashes of common sense, is unbecoming of someone trying to make a serious point.

On the other hand, if your only complaint is that atheists are angry, then great, no complaints. Just don't accuse us of being bigots or simpletons or being gullible or uneducated morons or tithe-payers or racists or twisters of the truth.

We can honestly say that those negative positions are held in the main by fundiedom and its retinue.

Christians think Atheists hate them.
I'm Atheist and I don't hate anybody...
ok well except stupid people...
worship you lolGod and leave me out of it.

Same thing can be said for christians. Why do they get so angry when confronted by people who don't believe in their religion?

12/17/2008 8:18:07 PM

I could ask the same thing of you, if Christians exist why are they still going to church to convince themselves that they are right? Is being Christian a trend now for bigots?

12/17/2008 8:20:33 PM

So, you're questioning whether Paul's (that's Saint Paul) references to atheists in your Bible are true? Heretic!

12/17/2008 8:47:48 PM

Atheists are the angry ones now? We're not the ones that are awaiting for God to let them see the others burning.

Porky Pine

Atheists aren't real?

12/17/2008 11:06:23 PM

a mind far far away

If atheists are real, why are they still trying to convince themselves that they're right

Can someone please, please tell me what in the fuck this is supposed to mean before my brain explodes.

12/18/2008 5:54:30 AM

...I think that I've only ever been in one argument with a Christian over this issue. I don't go looking for confrontation.
I'm actually more of an agnostic non-believer.
