And yet, as a gay man, I have a stepmother (my natural mother died twenty years ago), a father, a brother, a sister, a brother-in-law, two nieces, an aunt, three uncles, two cousins, and three step-sisters (along with their husbands and children)....and we all get along fine.

Perhaps our family is simply more stable, loving, and well adjusted than yours.
