Well that's funny cause the Bible has many long chapters of god ordering his chosen people to carry out several genocides right after all that "thou shalt not kill" stuff.

A lot of religions before and after your own have said that killing is wrong. We choose to believe that it is an inherent truth among humans that killing is wrong, not a restriction handed down from on high.
We set our own morals. You follow someone elses.
If Jesus descended from the clouds and said that the way into heaven was murder and cannibilism all the Fundies would cheerfully slaughter and eat their neighbours.

You couldn't be more wrong. "Morality", or putting the needs of society above the needs of the individual, is the default setting for sane social animals, including humans and other primates.

Dan, old boy, has no one ever told you that you cannot prove the validity of a statement by using that statement as proof. Between us chickens, that's a no-no.

I don't understand the problem. Yes, everyone has their own set of morals. My personal standard is "Don't do any harm, and don't let any harm happen". Often enough those two collide and I will have to make a value judgement. But I don't need any supernatural entity to guide me. In fact, looking towards a millenia old book would be outright counterproductive and force me into exactly that kind of doublethink that we see so often in the fundies: Killing "innocent fetuses" is an abomination, sending soldiers to kill innocent foreigners and getting killed in return is a-ok.

Learn to use an apostrophe, and stop murdering the ellipses...
There are no basic morals in Christianity. Ones morals are determined by ones own view of what is moral, and what isn't. Killing an innocent person might be immoral to some Christians, and then again might be perfectly justifiable and ethical in another ones view.
Eventually, every ignorant person will turn away from God to something else, and from there the mass will turn to yet another faith.
Christians have no reason or obligation to act 'morally' or 'ethically' (morals and ethics are based upon oneself just for u uneducated fundies and Christians). Christians are presented with paradox, as they define what is moral and ethical themselves, which...if they believe as most intelligent people do regarding killing innocent people,,,that is wrong....are now agreeing with other religions, which goes against their own religion, which goes to show how incredibly moronic it is and thus makes anyone who practices it a...moron.
Fixed.

Well then I suppose it wouldn't surprise you if I acted accordingly and blast your brains out. Only I don't do that kind of thing.
I leave the whole world domination thing to the religious and the republicans.

You lost me when you said that atheism makes man god. It's obvious you don't know what atheism means therefore the rest of your post is flawed. Get this through your thick skull. Atheist don't believe in god(s). I don't seek to replace your skydaddy with satan, myself, my dog, or my shoes. I don't believe in god. Geez you're a facking cunt.

Completely and totally irrelevant. Atheism is correct because, based on the evidence we have available to us, it is the most logical stance.
Something isn't proved or disproved based on whether it "has morals." It's true because it is, not because you like it.

Oh that's RIGHT. You don't HAVE ONE.

You shouldn't be "obligated" to act morally or ethically, as that would be a removal of free will. Athies (and the rest of us pagan-liberal-commie-satanist types) act morally and ethically because to act otherwise would HARM innocent people. Those who *do* act badly, and do harm, are punished accordingly via secular law.

Theism - following morality as it was understood by men thousands of years ago.

And I'm sure that all of your followers are all extremely moral people who follow Jesus' words to the letter, right?

"With or without religion, good men will do good, and evil men will do evil. But for a good man to do evil, requires religion"

Why do you all have to sound like fucking broken records? Take a fucking course in ethics and understand that morals do not require a fucking religion. Atheism is not a religion, so the atheist who agrees with the Christian on a point is not going against his own religion.
