Quote# 54519

(Arsonists set fire to Sarah Palin's church.)

Rod Weathers: It's absurd to deny that atheists are the heart of this. Who would torch a church but unfaithful, god-hating people? This is no assumption, but an overwhelming statistical fact.

TK: An arsonist would not, could not, be a "Christian". So who else but an atheist? Someone following Christ's teaching would never do arson. So, logically, one would assume it is a Godless person.

I would never torch a church, but I have no problems imagining that the fires may be associated with the lack of interest from media on the Palin's. Maybe one should look for an arsonist with ties to Wasilla and Palin's church?

Pule Thamex

Hi Rod. I'd be very interested to examine the statistics you have of the religious affiliations of church torchers.

Some definitions:-

Christian = to torch churches if vengeful.

Conservapedia = unashamedly bone-headed posturing.

Rod Weathers and TK, = to pretend to statistical certainty.

Hovind = to use only water when washing without the use of soap.

American jailbird = Christian criminal who enjoys anal sex. (statistically, by far the greatest amount of American criminals are Christians)

a mind far far away

I'm speechless. I just want to stab this asshole in the eye with a toothpick.

Let's see who could it be

- Her ex-husband that she tried to run out of the state?
- Someone who believes she should be back in the kitchen?
- Someone's whose pissed that she lost it for McCain?
- The daughters boyfriend? Has he bought his one way ticket to California yet?
- A bored teenager that has no parental supervision?
- Palin herself to get some media attention?

Old Viking

I keep forgetting that Christians are incapable of crime.

12/19/2008 4:22:03 AM

I think it's terrible to commit arson, no matter who the victim is, or who the arsonist is. It is pretty rude of you to automatically rule out Christians as arsonists, though. Christians have done a lot worse in the past.

It's like reading Encyclopedia Dramatica, expect they're not joking.

12/19/2008 4:29:58 AM

Probably the pastor himself who set the fire, in the name of "publicity".

12/19/2008 4:35:21 AM

Good job offending every atheist. Some of the worst people I know are Christians. They hide behind the mask of Christianity, giving them an excuse to continue whatever it is they are doing since they think they are infallible as long as they ask Jesus Fucking Christ to forgive them.
Who did the Jewish holocaust? Would not, could not, be a "Christian"?

12/19/2008 4:37:02 AM

If I had been there I would have pissed on it for you but I definitely would not have started it.

1) There could have been people in it.
2) Someone could have died or been seriously hurt trying to put it out.
3) Everyone has the right to believe and worship what they please as long as it does not infringe on the rest of the population.
4) Fires pollute the air and hurt the planet.
5) Its against the law.
6) I have better things to do.

BTW Christians used to set fires all the time: Witch Burning

Something tells me the majority of arsonists probably consider themselves Christian (like most criminals of all stripes, iirc)

12/19/2008 5:23:02 AM

@M.M: Encyclopedia Dramatica is a valid source of information. How else am I going to know that Palin used to be a stripper?

12/19/2008 5:33:11 AM

"Someone following Christ's teaching would never do arson."

Actually my friend from Ireland had his house firebombed because he was the wrong brand of Christian. True story.

12/19/2008 5:44:17 AM

This just in: atheists and Christians are suddenly the only two groups in existence!

12/19/2008 5:54:52 AM

1.- Nobody hates what they don't think exists.

2.- No true scotsman. And abortion clinincs bombers disagree.

"Someone following Christ's teaching would never do arson."

TK the Pagans (and Witches)would like a word with you.

UNESCO worker

Does this account for the fact that the prison population of the USA is 97.4% christian and 0.2% atheist?
This fact is reflected in every country on this planet.
BTW, I (a christian myself) do not regard Sarah Palin as an honest person. She, like George Bush, only acts religious to gain the fundie vote. Fortunately the fundie community is now dwindling both in credibility and numbers.

This is terrible news! They should have made sure that Sarah Palin was inside with no means of escape.
IMO, Sarah Palin did it to get (even more) media attention.

FREEDOM FOR ALASKA! (The USA would be better off with 1 state less)

12/19/2008 8:24:49 AM

Dear Vladimir Putin:

How would you like Alaska back?

12/19/2008 9:00:18 AM

I was born tomorrow

Someone following Christ's teaching would never do arson.

And I am the only True Scotsman.

12/19/2008 9:32:00 AM

I was born tomorrow

Yes, yes I am.

12/19/2008 9:32:40 AM

In other news: Varg Vikernes was seen running from the scene.

12/19/2008 10:10:03 AM

Who would torch a church but unfaithful, god-hating people?

Well, members of any other religion and any other sect of Christianity. And any crazy arsonist, regardless of his religion or lack thereof, who just likes to watch stuff burn and was in the area. Or even a member of that very church who felt betrayed by her party's election failure or something and just snapped.

12/19/2008 12:33:06 PM

Mister Spak

It could have been a catholic, since they aren't christins.

12/19/2008 12:50:41 PM

and you'd probably be wrong
