(From a fundie trying to varify his article Athiests vs. Christianity)
P: You say that atheists killed millions of people. So did Christians!
A: True, Christians have killed lots of people in the name of their faith. Here's the catch: in order to do so, they had to violate what their faith teaches. Christianity teaches to not hurt people, especially as a means of spreading the faith. When a Christian does this, he violates the teachings he claims to uphold. Thus, the Christian faith itself is not responsible for any slaughters.
My main purpose in pointing out the atrocities committed by atheists is that I'm tired of them whining about how awful Christians are because of the Crusades and such. When atheists try to use that argument, I've got a big ol' cup of shut-up juice to hand them.

Christians commit atrocities in the name of their god. Christians commit horrendous acts just because. To dodge the moral issue at hand, by using the "no true scotsman" approach is nothing more than an attempt to expunge all the evils christians have committed in the name of christianity, in order to present themselves in a better light. However, when one takes an objective look at the bible, and realizes that the christian god has commanded such acts from his followers, then one quickly realizes that to act in any other way, is to go against the sick ethical propositions put forth in that evil book. For all the crap Muslims take at the hands of overzealous conservative christians, by calling them evil murderers, followers of their prophet and book, they should apply the same criteria to their own religion, and realize that it is just as bad, if not worse , than Islam ever has been, or even is today. Muslims make the same claims about islamists terrorists, that they are not true Muslims, but acting against that faith. Christians say this is not the case, just look at the Qur'an and Hadith. But then, they do not wish this same idea to be applied to their own religion, because it exposes the bible and christianity for what it is, immoral, unethical, evil, bullshit.
Wow! The best display of weasel words since oh, I dunno, say the last post.
So what you appear to be saying is that Christians can switch their Christianity on and off in order to do achieve certain things, for instance torture someone. In other words, you want your cake, with jam and cream on it, and eat it too. And you call that shut-up-juice. Not very bright are you? An not a good advertisement for Christianity either.
What a load of fatuous nonsense. No sale.
Uh... AFAIK, most mass-murderers, serial killers, etc., are CHRISTFAGS. Christianity DOES teach violence towards non-christians, just read the OT.
Here's the catch: in order to do so, they had to violate what their faith teaches.
Your faith also teaches that if you just tell God "sorry" telepathically, you're automatically forgiven, and it's like the offense never happened. In other words, you can justify anything to yourself. It's basically a get-out-of-jail-free card.
As the Pope of Atheism I'd like to declare a few rules,
1. No male Atheist shall have a penis shorter than 8 inches, no female atheist should have breasts smaller than a D cup.
2. No Atheist should ever do anything bad, ever.
3. No Atheist should ever be anything other than super awesome and totally cool and like totally way better than any Christian has ever been and stuff.
So, I think you see. We Atheists are truly the greatest people on Earth.
When a Christian does this, he violates the teachings he claims to uphold. Thus, the Christian faith itself is not responsible for any slaughters.
This doesn't make any sense to me, maybe it doesn't make sense at all.

Fixed.
But atheists should be held responsible for what other atheists do? I consider myself to be a humanist as well as an atheist; atheists who kill aren't acting on humanist principles; ergo, I don't fall into the same category as them.
I don't think their reasoning is that bad, though. But then again, atheists never kill 'in the name of no god!'.
The difference, Eternal Choice, is that any atrocities committed by atheists were done by evil men, of their own accord. There is no underlying universal belief that atheism espouses that made them do it. Hence, Mao, Stalin, etc., were evil mass-murdering fuckheads who just happened to be atheists.
The Crusades, the Inquisition, and the Holocaust came about because people believed that they were doing the right thing according to their belief system.
Confused?
