LOL, the only people that say we come from monkeys are the Christians, who in turn say they dont believe it. Everyone else knows that humans are classified as apes and share common ancestors with the Chimpanzees, Mountain gorillas, and orangutans.

First...Of course YOU didn't come from a monkey! Over the past two to three million years a whole variety of primate species branched out from the Bonobo, (a small primate similar to a chimp. NOT A MONKEY, just so we're clear.) These branch-off species each combined ape and human traits to varrying degrees. Over MANY generations, (the millions of years mentioned earlier) these species gradually underwent minute changes, died out, interbred, and/or exterminated one another. The end result was the Cro-magnon people; the earliest group to display all of the biological and genetic traits associated with modern humans. The theory of human evolution makes no claim that you or I or any individual now living are directly descended from monkeys or apes. It states that the human species, as a whole, developed into its present state from other, older species; all of which sounds alot more plausible than claiming that we were created from dirt.
