Quote# 54793

here's the deal....homosexuality is an abomination to the Lord. It doesn't help build up marriages and stable families and quite honestly, I am way past sick and tired of them hollerimg that this is a civil rights issue...it isn't. I also have had enough of them trying to jam it down the throats of people who do not agree with them...which, last time I heard, was most of the country. There is no convincing evidence that people are born that way...if there were, then it would make a lie of a lot of Scripture and that's not possible since God isn't wrong. If these people are bound and determined to live this lifestyle, then that's their choice and I am not suggesting they go hide in a closet either but they need to appreciate that this in your face stuff is offensive and they have no right to marginalize evangelicals for the sake of their misguided life choices. I just pray they hear the Gospel and wake up before it is too late for them spiritually.

"It doesn't help build up marriages and stable families"

There are some homosexual couples with children who would like a word with you.

"I also have had enough of them trying to jam it down the throats of people who do not agree with them"

You owe me a new irony meter.

"There is no convincing evidence that people are born that way"

Why don't you just ask a homosexual yourself instead of getting your info from your fundie pals?

Your Gospel is an IRL Necronomicon.

Just like the latter, no one has any idea what the former is supposed to say, but it probably involves some seriously fucked up shit.

They keep talking, but more and more all I'm hearing is 'blah blah blah'.

Talk to a real gay person for once, and get the straight (no pun intended) truth. You won't catch 'the gay'. Promise.

How anyone can't understand why people would get mad after you take their rights away is beyond me. Religion of love my ass.

There is no convincing evidence that people are born that way...if there were, then it would make a lie of a lot of Scripture and that's not possible since God isn't wrong.

Once again, this is what happens when, rather than actually bothering to check, you just assume what the evidence will be by working backwards from the wrong conclusion.

Except that is NOT the deal.

Homosexuality could "help build up marriages" IF YOU WOULD ALLOW HOMOSEXUALS TO MARRY.

Until you allow gay marriage, you have no way of showing that it doesn't promote stable families.

The fact that you are sick and tired of a group of people demanding equal rights doesn't bother me. What bothers me is that you think they should shut up rather than you allowing them the same rights you expect.

Allowing someone else to marry a member of their same sex does not marginalize evangelicals. No one is asking YOU to marry a same-sex partner.

Try thinking of the big picture once in a while, a**hat.

Hey jb777, you and your bigotry can just fuck right off. Perhaps we should revoke religious civil rights on the basis that "there is no convincing evidence that people are born that way." Human sexuality has a lot more biological evidence working for it in that respect than your religious fictions.

Your assumption that the bible is the inerrant and infallible word of god is a poor place upon which to ground your premise.

I would suggest that you simply Google something like bible contradictions or bible errors, look up the references yourself and then let the Truth and the doubts take you back into reality.

If these religious fanatics are bound and determined to live this lifestyle, then that's their choice and I am not suggesting they go hide in a closet either but they need to appreciate that this in your face stuff is offensive and they have no right to marginalize non-evangelicals for the sake of their misguided life choices.

Fixed it for ya, jb.

"It doesn't help build up marriages and stable families"

Citation needed. I demand proof that doesn't come from Focus on the Family or a fundy researcher.

"I also have had enough of them trying to jam it down the throats of people who do not agree with them"

So shut the fuck up about how your god is the best and everyone who doesn't agree is going to hell.

It's true, evangelicals have made some very misguided life choices.

Ok, neither does sterility, mental illnesses and many other things that the Bible either calls "curses" or "demons". If you wanna use a computer, at least be consequent.

It isn't only because you people are making it not such, dragging your arbitrary rules and multi-interpretable verses into it and such.

Heres the deal, jb777, there are a lot of things in the Babble that teh Lord finds as an abomination. Why don't you do some research for once, asshole? Once you and your ilk start abiding by EVERYTHING your Bible says, including shellfish, mixed fabrics, stonings, etc etc, then I'll shut up. Until then, we'll keep calling you on your bullshit. If you're going to call homosexuality an abomination, why don't you actually read the entire Leviticus passage you lovely Fundies love to quote?

According to the OT, there is very little that isn't an abomination to the Lord. Why don't you focus on shellfish for a change of pace? And, yes, it is a civil issue. Exclusively.
