I do not believe that a baby can be born without a soul. Science has shown that when a person dies there is extra weight that has been lost and cannot be accounted for. It is often argued that this unaccounted for weight is the soul of the body.
As science has explained this as the soul, and presumptuous that you can not purchase a soul somewhere and have it added to your body then the only logical conclusion would be that we are born with the soul already in place.
So I ask, can a baby be born without a soul?

Even if this were true (and [citation needed])...
As science has explained this as the soul
This still doesn't follow.
If "soul" means awareness, then yes.
@ Headache, that's because the crackpots speak their language.
So that's the immaterial and ineffable human soul, then? The one which supposedly weighs 21 grams? Does it weigh 21 grams when from a baby who dies shortly after birth as well 21 grams when from a 100-year old man who himself weighs 100kg?
In any case I bet you fundies think that women's souls only weigh 20 grams...
If science were to discover evidence for a soul, it would have been all over the tv, radio, and internet.
-edit- And also, even if science did discover evidence for a soul, it still doesn't prove the bible right ;)
The soul is a myth. As a race, we have always considered ourselves special but biology shows that we are incredibly similar genetically to the other living things on the planet. So yes, babies are born without souls because souls don't exist. Babies are combinations of their parents' DNA.
Lying for Jebus is still lying, you puerile pond-scum.
But, if you want to talk about that undefined something we call a soul; I dare you to stare an ape in the eye and say it has no soul. Or even a cat, for that matter.
it's hilarious that these morons despise science yet crave its validation* for their douchebaggery....
* look it up, fundie cunt
There was a christian king a few centuries ago who wanted to see a soul leave a body so he built a lead lined coffin that could be totally sealed except for a small hole. He put dozens of people to death trapped inside the coffin so he could see a soul escape through the small hole.
I wonder if fundies would replicate this study to prove their point ?
PS the experiment did not work and he never saw a soul leave a body so he decided that souls were invisible to people !
"Science has shown that when a person dies there is extra weight that has been lost and cannot be accounted for." Proven false. I learned about that idea in Year 7. Try harder next time.
"then the only logical conclusion would be that we are born with the soul already in place" It could be escaping gases....
"So I ask, can a baby be born without a soul?" Depends on the definition of a soul.
"Science has shown that when a person dies there is extra weight that has been lost and cannot be accounted for"
Fuck me, people still beleive that? That's right up there with believing men have less ribs than women, you only use 10% of your brain and butter works great for treating burns. How do people still think this shti is true when we have access to so much information now? At the very least, please watch QI or something!
Like the microphone lowered into hell this is complete bullshit. Your religions one farce but your acceptance, with NO varification of ANYTHING that supports it is shameful.
By the way, spreading falsehoods (even though you don't know it, but in this case you coulda checked) is a sin.
Yes. They can.
I personally believe in the exsistance of the soul, and, whether it is earned throughout life or you are simply born with it, I have witnessed substantial evidence to show that I, indeed, have none.
I find it funny that in matters of faith, fundies still try to use science to validate a point.
Scientific Theory: Here are the facts. What conclusions can we draw from them?
Religious faith: Here is the conclusion. What facts can we find to support it?
Prove the 'Soul' exists first.
...what's that, DC Man? You can't ? Well then. By your own admission, you've proved that the 'Soul' doesn't exist, therefore the entirety of your 'beliefs' (and thus an 'afterlife') are pure bullshit, and have no right to be acknowledged by normal, critically-thinking, sane people. [/smartarse]
“I do not believe that a baby can be born without a soul.”
Bible says the Spirit enters the body with the first breath, that’s when it becomes a living being.
So all are born without souls unless Mommy is equipped with a snorkel.
“Science has shown that when a person dies there is extra weight that has been lost and cannot be accounted for.”
One time. The experiment results were not consistent. ‘science’ has shown exactly shit.
"then the only logical conclusion would be that we are born with the soul already in place.”
Hardly logical. Could be that the soul develops slowly with consciousness, or that it’s added after one’s birth, or that it doesn’t exist.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
