I think certain people don't have the "brain power" to comprehend God the way that believers do, especially those who become believers due to science (myself, Einstein, Anthony Flew, etc.). Because they can't understand God, God can't possibly exist to them.
Their skepticism is actually nothing more than low intelligence, possibly even mild retardation in certain cases.....
I mean this as no offense to any non-believers here, just an observation.

"I mean this as no offense"
Bull shit. You're just looking for any excuse to call people dumb and feel smug and justified about it. And you have the gall to compare yourself to Einstein, an agnostic. Die in a fire, asshat.

Interesting, exactly the feeling I usually have towards believers in the literal truth of the bible ;)
Fundies say god cannot be comprehended by the human mind, because he is far above it. Then they say things like this: "I think certain people don't have the "brain power" to comprehend God the way that believers do" . It's a contradiction. Then he calls Einstein a 'believer'. What he doesn't realize is that Einstein rejected the idea of a personal, transcendent, creator god. Einstein said he believed in the "god of Spinoza". To fundies who only quote-mine, this might seem like a great scientist endorsing the abrahamic concept of god. But Spinoza was the 'father' of modern pantheism, an idea that would be whole-heartedly rejected by fundies. Then the kicker: "Their skepticism is actually nothing more than low intelligence, possibly even mild retardation in certain cases" , laughable, since most fundies reject the idea of intelligence all-out. Then he tries to pardon his offensiveness, and justify his own ignorance. What a fucktard.
I think certain people don't have the "brain power" to comprehend Pro Wrestling the way that rednecks do, especially those who become rednecks due to inbreeding and beer(myself, Larry the Cable Guy, Brittany Spears, etc.). Because they can't figure out how Pro Wrestling works, Pro Wrestling seems fake to them.
Their disinterest is actually nothing more than low intelligence, possibly even mild retardation in certain cases.....
I mean this as no offense to any people who think Pro Wrestling is fake here, just an observation.

None taken.
Merry Christmas, a**hole.
I think I agree with you! I'll have to think about it for a couple of months first, it's too much to take-in all in one go. But I think, most likely, I'll agree. Astonishingly subtle insight. We must all defer to the incredible intellectual giant that is Dr. Bomb. Dr.Bomb blows your mind.
Just think what a fool I've been. All those uneducated simpletons who've wanted to argue with me in the pub and I've been long suffering with them. The reality is that they must have secretly been toning down their awesome brain power and tolerantly not beguiling me with their mental agility. Phew!
Gosh! I hope I never run in to Dr. Bomb when he's in the mood to propound a point of view.
My question is how does he define brain power? My IQ was 164 when I was tested in the third grade, and I didn't believe their crap any more then than I do now, so I'm thinking he can't be talking about IQ. Maybe by "brain power" he actually means gullibility?
People, people, enough with the ad hominems. It's not his fault he's so stupid.
Also, "Mirror, mirror, that hangs on the wall, in the black kettle the irony meter we'll boil..."
Because they can't understand God, God can't possibly exist to them.
Because they can't understand nature, God must exist to them.
Fix'd
As a side note looking at Einstein, I never felt his position as the pop-culture definition of intelligence was justified.
His past education indicates he was not exactly a prodigy, he didn't even speak until he was 3 and scored badly in school, especially math.
To me Einstein is proof that a man can have great ideas and valid opinions despite their intellect. Dr Bomb however appears to lack any good ideas in his head. A child can wrap his head around the idea of religion and God, but not evolution and advanced science, so which do you think needs more brain power to comprehend?
(fundiesRtehlulz)
"Hey, Dr. Bomb, I got a degree in a box of Lucky Charms too. At least I had enough sense to understand that it's not official."
Hmm. Does it look like "Dr." Kent Hovind's degree, I wonder?
You're a loud mouthed moron and you would be doing the human race if you slit your wrists now, and do it outside in the rain, so we don't have to clean up any mess. But take no offense, please.
"... low intelligence, possibly even mild retardation in certain cases....."
Stephen Hawking, Michael Shermer, Richard Dawkins, Victor Stenger, etc., would be very curious to know that.
"I mean this as no offense..."
"No offense" means "fuck you." So, right back at ya. No offense, of course...
Also, it\'s rather ironic to see someone on a Pro Wrestling forum discussing intellect. That said, one of the most famous ex-wrestlers in the world is Jesse Ventura, who is a nontheist... go figure.
People who claim to be against fundies making fun of people who like prowrestling... what a surprise.
Sure when they lump all atheists together its wrong. But anyone who happens to like something I don't, well they must be stupid inbreed rednecks! That's not fundie type thinking, no sir, that's just plain truth! Right?
"No offense, but I think you might be retarded."
Funny, I thought the same thing about you after reading that.

Its Pro Wrestling, the stereotype is funny so I used it. I don't mean it any more than I mean it when I say Obama is gonna get rims on Air Force One. And when I say I don't mean it, I mean its 100% true and definitely going to happen.
the off-topic section of the pro wrestling forums ... sounded like an horrific nightmare i once had. this post confirmed my suspicion.
lastly, [tacky] i have an iq of the square root of 24,025 [/tacky]
didn't Anthony Flew go some sort of insane before the Christians got to him...? that certainly would be a "brain power" I do not possess
on a different note, I believe scientists did discover something like a propensity for spirituality. so yeah, I'd say die-hard skeptic atheists do not have that. (I do. it's distracting sometimes, but at least I know it's just weirdness my brain produces, not some supernatural power)
edit: ah, I seen now that Flew only became a deist, and only because he got old. old age seems to do that. I'm fairly certain by the time I'm 80, I'll be one as well. death scares me.
I think certain people don't have the "brain power" to comprehend God the way that believers do
The irony of this being posted on a Pro-Wrestling forum obviously escaped Dr. Bomb.
I always thought of pro-wrestling as being entertainment for retards.
You obviously don't know any atheists, or the ones you do know happen to be morons. I'm going to play the arrogance card here (as you do when you compare yourself to Einstein and claim to comprehend God) and say a disproportionate amount of atheists, myself included, have a genius level IQ.
You do realize that religious beliefs and IQ are negatively correlated, yes?
There's my evidence, and you can find some charts and shit to back it up. I'd like to see any evidence you might have that proves we are retards.
That's funny. Studies have shown the higher the intelligence the less apt to be brainwashed or lobotomised by religion.
Einstein was an agnostic. The list of geniuses that were and are atheists is long.
As an on-again-off-again fan of pro wrestling myself, even I have to chuckle at the irony of someone on a pro wrestling forum claiming to have more "brain power" than non-believers. He even compares himself to Einstein! It's too bad that Einstein isn't alive, him and Dr. Bomb could probably have an epic debate about who screwed who in the "Montreal Screwjob"
This idiot watches pro wrestling and puts himself in the same mental arena as Einstein? As far as Flew goes, I really don't know much about the story behind his conversion, or how respected he was in the scientific arena.
Oh, and the only atheist turned fundie that I've ever met was in a major car accident and suffered brain damage. When I was a young fundie I was always told that I thought too much, and was punished for asking the wrong questions.
Edit:
Just read the posts and the people who are criticizing us are correct. Being a fan of pro-wrestling does not make you stupid. I've met a few of the Hart family members over the years. A friend of mine dated Owen Hart, I had Bret as a substitute teacher (back in the days they were in Stampede Wrestling and not making much) and I did charity work with their mother. They are very good people. That's the weird thing about Calgary; over a million people and it still feels like everybody knows everybody.
Hmph, I don't think you are even a real doctor, let alone a bomb.
And Pro-wrestling? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA holy shit, Pro-fucking-wrestling, HAHAHAHAHA, anyone, and I mean ANYone who takes interest in stupid shit like that above the age of 12, is just clinically ret- ahem, I mean very, very "special".
Confused?
