Quote# 54922

The education system is nothing but a thought filter, a mind filter. They force minds to think in certain directions...and if the mind doesn't think in a certain way then it is turned away and/or deemed unsuccessful. The academia in this country is in the business of indoctrinating kids' minds at an early age...and they do this by withholding information and evidence that might otherwise shape their worldview in a way they don't like. As for those who slip through the cracks -- like you and me -- who question the orthodoxy, we are to be ridiculed and laughed at. If we decide to enter a field of science or medicine, we are not to be given jobs and/or we are publically embarrassed. Today's education system offers no room for dissenters. It's run much like a communist block country.

And you talk from experience of a guy who has never opened a book in his life. Thanks for "enlighting" us.

I take it these are the reasons you failed to finish your education?

No supersport, you're ridiculed because you write dumb things. It's very simple.

Supersport said this yet.

All I gotta say is the checks and balances of proper science and education must still mostly be in place.

Those driving schools that won't let you dissent about which side of the road you drive on - totalitarian, every one of them.

I took a meteorology class last year in college. There was this girl in there who was practically a living Barbie doll with the intellectual depth of a spoon. On Halloween, she dressed up as a barmaid, but then went on to say that she thought that Halloween was the Devil's birthday.

When we went over what causes rainbows, (refraction of sunlight at certain angles and all,) she raised her hand and said that it was God's gift to Noah to prove that God would kill us by fire next time.

And that, supersport, is why you are going to get laughed at in class. Because we just went over the scientific, testable, provable cause, and then you bring up the impossible one from your religion and say yours is right.

"Fundamental Christianity is nothing but a thought filter, a mind filter. They force minds to think in certain directions...and if the mind doesn't think in a certain way then it is turned away and/or told they will burn in hell. The fundy pastors and parents in this country are in the business of indoctrinating kids' minds at an early age...and they do this by withholding information and evidence that might otherwise shape their worldview in a way they don't like."

FIXED.

They force minds to think in certain directions...the directions that produce lightning rods and electricity and vaccines and flying machines and the computer you posted this on. Those who claim goddiddit produce nothing because they are deliberately ignorant and proud of it, and they don't understand why people who enjoy having aircraft vaccines and computers laugh at them.

Yeah! Like, I'm naturally dyscalculiate (numeric-dyslexic), but those horrible mind-controlling academics indoctrinated my mind enough to have me doing math anyway--even in my head when I have to figure out a tip or whether I can really afford something! How dare they?

Such as using factual materials on which to base one's thoughts. Too bad it didn't work with you.

What? You don't hire people with no training or specialized education?

Clearly this is a conspiracy against Christians!

On the contrary, sonny boy. You are the champion of 16th Century orthodoxy. Think of it as walking down 21st Century Main Street dressed in the swankiest, most gorgeous clothes of the Elizabethan Era.
