Quote# 54953

[In response to, "While I don't agree with the homosexual agenda, I think it is so wrong to jail and execute people over this. That's a Muslim nation for you though."]

Gay rights is wrong. God did not tolerate it. Why should we?

Because you should be better than your so-called God.

When did God not tolerate it? (Please think very hard about your answer. The more apparently obvious it is, the more likely it is to be wrong. The QI klaxon is primed.)

Like dpareja said: Because we're better than your pathetic excuse for a god.

Didn't your god invent homosexuality?

According to you he created the whole universe right?

Paschal Wagner

God tolerates slavery. Why don't you?

God doesn't tolerate Seven Eleven stores. Why do you?

Percy Q. Shun

Why should we?

Umm, because they're human beings too? And deserve the same freedoms you enjoy?

1. Prove it.
2. That explains why anyone who comes to the conclusion that they are gay is immediately smited. No, wait. Doesn't happen.
3. Because if your alleged God were that concerned it would immediately smite anyone who came to the conclusion that they are gay.

a mind far far away

Do Muslims hate homosexuality? Yes. And they have no qualms about admitting it. Christians, on the other hand, try to sugar coat their hatred and bigotry, by saying dumb shit like "I love homosexuals, but their actions go against god's word", or other such things. They hide behind their religion, pretending to be all-loving, while harboring hatred in their hearts. Muslims, on the other hand, wear their religion on their sleeve, and aren't afraid to admit their beliefs, or hide the obvious. In this regard, Muslims are more repectful than fundamentalist and conservative/evangelical christians, in my opinion.

In which way did God not tolerate it?. Sodom and Gomorra doesn´t count, bearing in mind that he's overpassed Rome, Greece, Amsterdam and Harun Al-Raschid, among others.

12/28/2008 11:33:57 AM

But your god created homosexuality. Oh, and there is no 'homosexual agenda'. That's the call to arms catch phrase for homophobes and fundies.

Yet they bitch and whine about the Muslims. Such pathetic little hypocrites.

What #878704 said.

Even assuming for the moment, for the sake of argument, that Sodom was destroyed for homosexuality, that is only ONE example of God not tolerating it.

What about all the other examples throughout history and throughout the world? From cultures which totally accepted it, to individuals doing it - God is strangely silent.

Seems like tolerance to me.

Please enlighten me on this "Gay Agenda."

12/28/2008 12:58:52 PM

You are evil hate-filled little shits, who should aspire to the tolerance you do not feel in the name of the goodness you do not practice.

Mister Spak

Infidelness is wrong. Allah does not tolerate it. Why should we?

Shrimp eating is wrong. God did not tolerate it. Why should we?

Wow, the first commenter's thinking! S/he'll get kicked off RR soon.

I guess I missed the passage where Jesus personally stoned a homosexual to death, then went on to forgive a murderer, a drunkard and a disease ridden hooker.

Sci Is Green

My question is who was the guy he was responding to? I mean if you replaced the word muslim with theocratic, you'd have an almost sane post (course to be sane the homosexual agenda line would need to go)

12/28/2008 2:52:04 PM

Moreover, Sodom and Gomorrah, Biblical scholars who are Christians and Jews alike say, was not punished over homosexuality but over lack of hospitality. Rape was a common way to humilliate people back then, regardless whether they were women or men.

12/28/2008 3:34:35 PM

Didn't Jesus say to love the sinner and hate the sin? And let he that is without sin cast the first stone? And do you people admire the Taliban?

12/28/2008 3:51:52 PM

Because God is an insane, fictional character, however, we are real, caring human beings. Got it?

12/28/2008 4:35:53 PM

Because human beings are more moral than your God. It's pretty damn pathetic for a deity to set the bar that low for himself.

Jezebel's Evil Sister

What an irrational god! Always creating things that pissed himself off. Must have been a rage-aholic.
