living a moral life does not make you or I a moral person when morality is based on an absolute standard, which is something that an atheist denies the existence of.

Well Rape is wrong is a moral absolute to Atheists if I'm not mistaken, yet to Fundies it seems to be based on whether or not it's in gods name. Killing one to save multiple is a necessary evil to an Atheist, but Killing is always wrong to a Fundie unless it's a liberal,non-fundie or Homosexual. Two of the most obvious cases where Atheists are more moral than Fundies.
fundie logic making my brain hurt... how does living a moral life make one NOT a moral person? and how is that AT ALL influenced by whether morals are relative or absolute?
actually, I'd thing it would be possible to lead a moral life (i.e. according to your morals) while being immoral(i.e. according to others morals) when morals are relative. it's impossible when they're absolute.
fucking idiot
When's that fundy word definition project going to get going?
Here's one:
Morality: Commonly thought of as a code of conduct needed for living in a peaceful society.
Fundy definition: Whatever God tells you to do, no matter how heinous or against your own conscience, is moral.
Examples: Abraham being tricked into thinking he has to sacrifice his own son, the genocide, looting, and rape committed in God's name during Israel's invasion of Canaan.
And your point is?
So far that doesn't sound like an attack, more like a recognition of the problem of absolute morality....
unless the guy was so idiotic as to state perfectly what is wrong with such sistem and the suporting it...
Wait... it's youtube... He is a moron
Well, Jesus has a memo for you, "you can't love a god you can't see, if you don't love your brothers and sisters YOU SEE".

"Well, Jesus has a memo for you, 'you can't love a god you can't see, if you don't love your brothers and sisters YOU SEE'."
Actually, the Bible has Jesus proclaiming just the opposite:
(Luke 14:26)
"If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. "
OH, so YOU have to live by some moral list written by old men that didn't know what indoor plumbing was? My condolences.
Oh yeah, BTW, you are full of shit.
Haeron: I don't understand the problem with subjective morality.
The "problem" with subjective morality is that they feel if morality is subjective, it doesn't exist at all. And to a certain extent, they're correct. After all, very few serial killers think of themselves as immoral people. They think their actions are fully justified. Similarly, cultures with practices like female circumcision don't find the act immoral, while it's absolutely reprehensible to anyone outside of the culture.
Of course, this only goes to prove that there's no such thing as an objective morality. The closest thing is the commonly accepted morality of the community as a whole.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, nothing short of sucking gods cock while you tell him how great he is, will make you a moral person. We get it. Go away.
I grow very tired of this "The only moral people are Christians" rant.
It is not factually true, jerkwads! One can be a moral person whilst still not believing in God/Gods/Goddess. Get a clue!
Oooh, oooh, I got another one!
How much wood would a woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
