Simple solution for you, dumbass.
Don't buy the magazine, and you won't be offended by its content.
If Campbell soup offends you, don't buy it.
However, if denying human rights to others is your game, if violating the Constitution is what you are about, you are a traitor to the principles upon which the U.S.A. was founded.
Okay, I'm done.

"'Not only did the ads cost Campbell's a chunk of money,' writes AFA Chairman Donald Wildmon in an email alert, 'but they also sent a message that homosexual parents constitute a family and are worthy of support.'"
Indeed, they did; it's a message that's long, long overdue.
Anything else I might want to say about this, have already been addressed splendidly by JonathanE.
"Does the AFA have a subscription to The Advocate, I wonder? They appear to get regular copies of it."
Well, Christian fundies are constantly engaged in what they call a war against sin, and one of Sun Tzu's most famous pearls of wartime wisdom is "Know your enemy and know yourself, and have nothing to fear in a hundred battles."
Make of that what you will.

Does the AFA have a subscription to The Advocate I wonder ?
The appear to get regular copies of it
1/3/2009 12:58:28 PM
I thought you guys supported free market.
1/3/2009 1:13:47 PM
Oh noes, the humanity!
1/3/2009 1:14:20 PM
I thoroughly applaud Campbell's Soup for their bravery in making such an advertisement in the openly hostile times of today's America!
Good on them, it's not easy for a company to take this kind of risk, because it's likely the fundies will boycott them.
1/3/2009 1:22:19 PM
Wow, good for Campbell's.
1/3/2009 1:25:38 PM
I thought you guys supported free market.
The free market is like the Bible to them: They make a lot of noise about revering it, but when it gets in the way of their agenda, as it often does, they quietly abandon it.

I wonder, do they find logical that in Ragazza or Seventeen, for example, there are advertisements of viagra?, do they expect to find advertisements of tampax and sanitary towells in Men's Health?. If the answer is no, why do they complain because a gay-themed magasine, presumably read only by gays, have gay-friendly ads?
1/3/2009 1:32:05 PM
Which it can constitute a family. Love is what makes a family. And all people are worthy of support.

We get it. You boycott every company that promotes itself to [u]all[/i] groups. What are you going to do if some buybull publisher buys an add in The Advocate. Wait. They most likely already have! Because publishers print lots of different books. It's how they make money (free enterprise).
Aside from all that, do what you wish. You have no effect whatsoever on me.
1/3/2009 2:00:02 PM
Well, the organic broth I use is getting a bit spendy anyway. Guess I'll be using Campbell's for a while.
This really pisses me off:
"but they also sent a message that homosexual parents constitute a family and are worthy of support."
They do and they are, you pompous ass! I am beginning to really hate these "pro-family" people who do their best to make life harder for real families!
1/3/2009 2:00:32 PM
Or maybe they're just trying to get gays to buy their disgusting soup?
Businesses don't care who you fuck as long as they can squeeze money out of you.
1/3/2009 2:03:26 PM
which one of the closeted nutbags reads The Advocate?
1/3/2009 3:05:30 PM
Why are these idiots wasting time focusing on a single page of a magazine they undoubtedly rabidly despise in its entirety?
1/3/2009 3:22:22 PM
Let's take the advice of jew bashers on what to support.
1/3/2009 3:23:31 PM
"Not only did the ads cost Campbell's a chunk of money," writes AFA Chairman Donald Wildmon in an email alert, "but they also sent a message that homosexual parents constitute a family and are worthy of support."
Fuck you, you horrible piece of shit.
To you fundie fuckwits who want to see what persecution looks like -- start with this. Harassment over an ad in a gay magazine because it might make gay people look normal.
1/3/2009 3:26:27 PM
Looks like I need to support Campbell's soup!
1/3/2009 3:37:12 PM
Campbell's knows that gays have disposable income.
Campbell's wants to get some of that money.
Its called capitalism. Get used to it.
1/3/2009 3:44:56 PM
Wow, an ad that mentions IN PASSING that two people are lesbians and have a son. I am deeply, deeply offended and horrified.
1/3/2009 3:49:22 PM
"they also sent a message that homosexual parents constitute a family and are worthy of support"
1/3/2009 3:54:35 PM
Good for them. Now if only they can get that ad into a different publication, so that AFA will REALLY burst its spleen, I mean, look what they do about an ad that, due to its location, is virtually preaching to the choir? Got news for you, anyone who's actually reading the Advocate already believes the "message" you think this ad is sending.
1/3/2009 4:08:37 PM
I have learnt by now that the people who call themselves "pro-family" are really only "pro-one type of family and that it is white, married, heterosexual American Born-again traditional Christians with 2 or 3 children, preferably boys."
1/3/2009 4:15:17 PM
This affects you...how?
1/3/2009 4:20:21 PM
The Lazy One
And let me guess: You guys are the first to say "OMGYAY CAPITALISM!" when some group posts in a Christian magazine.
Fucking disgusting hypocrites.
