Fox had better not watch the anime series "Macross Frontier", if he knows what's good for him. A gay man is the weapons officer on this series' version of the SDF-1. When he used it's main weapon to annihilate the Vajra mothership, I don't think I've ever seen any male character - least of all such as he - display so much of what we anime fans (especially of mecha series) refer to as 'Hotbloodedness'. He'd certainly give even a Klingon pause.
