It is "freedom of religion" NOT "freedom from religion"
If you don't believe in any God, then you have proven how low your IQ is.

"If you don't believe in any God, then you have proven how high your IQ is."
Fixed.
Ok, so you don't actually have to be stupid to be conned by religion, but I couldn't resist.
Without "freedom from religion", there can be no "freedom of religion".
If you don't believe that, you have proven how low your IQ is.
So by your "logic," I have the right to believe in your religion.
But not the right to have no religious beliefs.
Got it. Now, fuck off.
So it doesn't matter what God I believe in, as long as I believe in one. Thereby, I suppose, vindicating your gormless religious beliefs and bolstering your tenuous faith by the simple expedient of lowering myself to your level of stupidity.
I think not, you moronic clod.
Oh fuck off and stop twisting the facts.
Here, the internet is a shitty place to start studying this but if you ever bother finding this and reading it use the search term: "religiosity and IQ".
Edit: You'll find though the whole issue is not so black and white.
"freedom of religion" That's a clear as can be but since Christians have tried to twist it there's been many clarifying statements that followed shortly after.
Even back then they had to slowly and repeatedly explain things to this type of Christian
We don't even need to say "from" except to clarify for your types. Freedom of means freedom to choose whatever belief or nonbelief suits and not have government interference.
As for the completely unrelated statement on IQ, I'm sure your God loves it when you insult people you don't agree with, not that that's much of an insult. . . .
"If you don't believe in any God, then you have proven how low your IQ is."
Damn, there goes my first irony meter in 2009.
Even if you weren't wrong (which you are), people will elect to believe in a God who requires no prayers, tithes or church attendance and live the exact same way.
Live and let live. Don't be a jerk.
Look, get someone with brains and patience to explain the Bill of Rights to you. Use hand gestures if necessary.
That should clear up your confusion.
I believe that one good hallucination is worth any number of gods.
IQ in this case means Ignorance Quotient, which is kept low by continuing learning.
Unfortunately, freedom from morons also includes 'freedom of morons to spout whatever nonsense they like'.
Freedom is not divisible. It means what it says.
fergus
Actually freedom of religion entails freedom from religion in the same way that free thought allows you the right not to think. And it's a good job from your POV that you are allowed the freedom not to think.
Are you incapable of understanding that if you do not have the freedom not to believe in any religion whatsoever then you do not really have freedom of religion.
It's freedom from establishment of religion, not freedom of establishment of religion.
Also, at 159, I'm such a tard.
Freedom from Religion would be a nice thing.
That's why I always supported the absolute and total seperation of church and state. And curbing (or outright banning) prosylitizing rights.
Hey, the fundies got their goals, I got mine. And if its not reason, people shouldn't have to be exposed to it against their will. Let alone have it actually influence countries.
Now my feelings are hurt.
@fstdt'ers: I hate the posts that require so many of us to recite our IO's. Other than mommy, I can't think of anyone who gives a rat's ass what your IQ is.
> If you don't believe in any God, then you have proven how low your IQ is.
I don't know. How low is that? Exact number, please.
Fine. Tell me why there is irrefutably a God. Prove it. Your argument is essentially "If you don't believe as I do, then you're stupid" ans this is both profoundly flawed, and childish beyond recognition. Faith requires a leap, and when you ask people to close their eyes, and step over the ledge, you can't be surprised when people tell you to get stuffed. You cannot force people to believe in something they find patently unbelievable.
I am religious with an IQ of 147, but I can ASSURE you that my beliefs differ greatly from yours- AND I consider nontheists as a whole to be the smartest group on Earth, which is a small wonder when you talk to people like you.
Well, spend all your money on guns, knives, ammo etc. Freedom to bear arms does not mean freedom from arms. And you onlly typed that little? Freedom of speech, according to you, =/= freedom of speech.
See how wonderful logic is?
"If you don't believe in any God, then you have proven how low your IQ is."
Richard Dawkins, Stephen Hawking, Michael Shermer, Carl Sagan, and many others might disagree with you on this point...
I'll be sure to let Mensa know that they need to include the "Do you believe in God?" question on their qualification tests.
Edit: I had a feeling that the comments would be filled with people talking about their high IQs. Am I the only person who doesn't really care what my IQ is?
So I have to pick a religion then eh?
Ok...lets set up this dart board with all the religions.
(Fling)...hmmm...where did the dart hit?
Oooh....The cult of Dionysus. Lucky me!
I believe. I believe!
Haven't been tested in a while but I believe my IQ is somewhere in the range of 120-125.
Oh, yeah, there was this IQ test i took online that I got a 76 on because I stepped away to answer the phone and didn't realize it was timed. Maybe God sent the phone call so I would get a low score.
Freedom of religion also means freedom from religion.
And just to burst your bubble, atheism is correlated with higher intelligence and education.
Yup, you're totally free to be a muslim....well, go on then, what are you waiting for. Oh wait, you meant 'freedom of religion as long as its fundamentalist Christianity'.
IQ = 136 by the way, shoot.
It's the same fucking thing. And explain why the most intelligent people, the ones inventing, and creating, and progressing, and pushing humanity forward, are almost exclusively atheists or agnostics. Christians haven't done anything important since Newton, and even he was a "heretic". And where would Buddhism fall into your scheme? Buddhism is a religion, but it's atheistic as well. How's that for a fundy mind bender.
Freedom of IFF freedom from. That's how it works.
Oh, and for the record, my IQ is probably a solid 50 points higher than yours. That, of course, is a conservative estimate.
Ah, so you won't mind if your kids' teacher makes them face Mecca and say a prayer to Allah every day, right? You won't mind having to receive communion from a Catholic priest before getting a driver's license, correct? And surely you won't mind if having to pass a test on The Book of Mormon to register to vote?
What's that? You would mind?
Well too bad. It is freedom of religion, not freedom from religion. Do you have the IQ to understand what you're being told?
Freedom of Religion means, by DEFINITION, freedom from religion. I have the freedom to worship what I choose, if anything at all, free from your interference.
"If you don't believe in any God, then you have proven how low your IQ is."
Professor Stephen Hawking.
Guess who can prove the existence of at least eleven dimensions , and who can only calculate Pi to exactly 3; also the number of legs on an insect. BrainOfCaramel.
Confused?
