(Talking about Rapture on New Years Eve)
Wouldn't it be wonderful if the Rapture occurred, tonight in New York's Time Square with everyone standing there watching the ball drop? Now, I don't want to think about how few Christians might be in that crowd, or how many others will be too intoxicated to notice.......but mainly the world wide coverage of everyone viewing...that would be awesome!
And if not, then how about on Inauguration Day? Another event where people world wide will be viewing....
That would certainly dispel the myth of the "secret Rapture" wouldn't it?

You may find it hard to believe, but the ball dropping in Times Square isn't actually televised live throughout the world, mainly because there's such a thing as time zones, leading to the curious effect that it's already much, much later in most parts of the world and when it's midnight in New York people elsewhere are either sound asleep (Europe/Africa)), nursing their hangover (Asia) or enjoying a summer afternoon (Oceania).
Wait... if they don't think many "real christians" would be at the ball drop, and (being from RR) they also think no "real christians" would be at the Obama Inauguration, why exactly would they want their magic disappearing act to happen on those days? According to them, none of their people would suddenly go missing, so they'd get absolutely no benefit from it...
Oh, wait, I'm expecting them to use at least half-witted logic and read the words coming out of their keyboard. Silly me. ^-^
That once again proves, that these people at RR dream about the rapture because they just want to show off ;)
Of course it also once again proves that, in case of a real rapture, most of the folk at RR would be among those left behind ;)
@Xplict_UK
i was still nursing a hangover down in Aus when it was NY's in NY. I crashed at my mates house, had another mate drive me home and then slept until around 5. But it was totally worth it!
@cocopea
the only glimpse i got of the ball dropping, was at the end of the 6 oclock news, when they showed us NY's around the world (London, Paris and New York i think)
So rather than actually experiencing this divine deliverance from your god, you're more interested in simply putting on a good show for everyone on the planet. I thought that this rapture thing of yours was about finally being with your god, but it seems that you're in it for the disappearing act. Figures.
For all loonies who are praying for Rapture, Apocalypse, Armageddon...
Beloved men, recognise what the truth is: this world is in haste and it is drawing near the end - therefore the longer it is the worse it will get in the world. And it needs must thus become very much worse as a result of the people's sins prior to the Advent of Antichrist, and then indeed it will be terrible and cruel throughout the world. Understand properly also that for many years the Devil has led this nation too far astray and that there has been little loyalty among men although they spoke fair, and too many wrongs have prevailed in the land.

Lolz, you're just desperate to have people believe you're not a complete fucking mental basket of shit.
@ The Lazy One, well, hey - I never thought I'd see them Rickroll the entire country, lmao.

Ooooh lookit me, I'm so Christian, Jeebus lubs me and I go to church and I pray everyday and I don't listen to rock music and Obama* is the debbil and I'm going to get raptured because I'm so good and you're NAAAAAAWT! Neener neener neener!
Yeah you are right, that's the impression I get.

No, we won't.
This might surprise you, but the rest of the world pretty much doesn't CARE.

So many predictions..so much fail
Wiki
Some notable rapture predictions include the following:
1792 - Shakers calculated this date.
1844 - William Miller predicted Christ would return between March 21, 1843 and March 21, 1844, then revised his prediction, claiming to have miscalculated Scripture, to October 22, 1844. Miller's theology gave rise to the Advent movement.
1977 - William M. Branham predicted that the Rapture would take place in 1977.
1981 - Chuck Smith undogmatically predicted that Jesus would likely return by 1981.
1988 - Publication of 88 Reasons why the Rapture is in 1988, by Edgar C. Whisenant.
1989 - Publication of The final shout: Rapture report 1989, by Edgar Whisenant. More predictions by this author appeared for 1992, 1995, and other years.
Posters placed in public locations around the New England area in 19921992 - Korean group "Mission for the Coming Days" predicted October 28, 1992 as the date for the rapture.
1993 - Seven years before the year 2000. The rapture would have to start to allow for seven years of the Tribulation before the Return in 2000. Multiple predictions.
1994 - Pastor John Hinkle of Christ Church in Los Angeles predicted June 9, 1994. Radio evangelist Harold Camping predicted September 27, 1994.
2011 - Harold Camping's revised prediction has May 21, 2011 as the date of the rapture.
2060 - Sir Isaac Newton undogmatically proposed, based upon his calculations using figures from the book of Daniel, that the rapture could happen no earlier than 2060.

More Rapture-porn.
I have never seen any of the New Years stuff on TV over here. Sorry to ruin it for you, but by the time you guys are getting started we are all far to pissed to even focus on the TV, oe to give a damn really.
Wait, aren't you going to disappear and bye, bye baby?. So?, why making a show of something which is irrelevant for you?
First, the whole rapture theory is based on the "secret" rapture idea. Because otherwise it would imply three comings of jesus. Second, in the very slight and off chance that the rapture was real, I don't think the world would notice about a dozen people missing.
Look, just quit while you're ahead. The older you get, the sadder it is that you still think it's going to happen.
Why would it even be at a significant time? Surely God will do it WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT IT... *creepy rapture music*
the myth of the "secret Rapture"
Good, that's one baby step in the right direction. Now just go a little further.
Why do these idiots think that the rest of us in the world are watching what happens in North America on 31st December? I mean, no offence to those of you in the US but I couldn't care less about what's happening in NYC on New Year's eve.
Such arrogance, combined with ignorance. They just have no idea of (or interest in?) the world outside their own little square mile. Do they think U.S. = The World?
@Moondog, excellent cartoon.
@Mr Blur, Do they think U.S. = The World?
Yes, yes, they do.
And, of course, the obvious day for The Rapture is April 1st.
The rapture did happen on New Years. Just happened to be 1,000 middle eastern goat herders who were still living biblically.
Sucks to be you, doesn't it.
Confused?
