Because we don't accept the same delusion you fundies call religious belief and 'faith', and think it's the answer to everything? As in 'Godidit'? That's why science exists. That's why human brains exist. Enquiring minds need to know.

If you think you fundies can make this 'God' you 'believe' in appear to us in hard, solid, physical form (and prove he is who he says he is, via demonstrations of his power to the satisfaction of we Atheists), go right ahead. It's the only way we're going to get explanations for everything, outside of relying on scientists giving us the answers to questions that we Atheists have the right to know. And if we want to know everything - to the extent that, as a result, religion is destroyed, then tough titty. That's your problem.
Or even if your so-called 'God' does exist, maybe that's why he refuses to show himself - because he's got a lot of explaining to do.
