"If you want to unite all religions let Pakistan and India engage in nuclear war and no more Hindus. Get a Palestinian to sneak a nuke into Israel and take himself along with Judaism out. Drop a bomb on Russia and blame the Chinese... no more Buddhists. Let the Americans take care of Islam in the Middle East. Threaten to kill all other people who worship idolaters and either kill them or force them to convert. Ask God to destroy all atheists. Then we have a united world religion."
Or simply unite all the peoples in a world where hunger, want, war, poverty, illiteracy, and repression of curiosity and knowledge are completely eliminated.
Such is the world envisioned by the late great Gene Roddenberry, in his "Star Trek" scenario. Where even separate countries, nationalities and governments no longer exist, and Earth & it's peoples are governed by the United Federation of Planets.
Frankly, I know which one I'd prefer. As would the vast majority of the planet's population. But then, I am biased somewhat, as I'm an Atheist.
As was Gene Roddenberry:
'We must question the story logic of having an all-knowing all-powerful God, who creates faulty Humans, and then blames them for his own mistakes.'
This sums up our thoughts too:
'Nothing to kill or die for,
And no religion too'
-John Lennon, "Imagine"
