Oh no, not tolerance! Also, what's wrong with Jeannie and Bobby believing same sex relationships are fine? It doesn't mean Jeannie or Bobby will marry someone of the same sex (unless they already are homosexual), it just means they wouldn't look down on anyone else for their lifestyle. I can tell you all that I didn't *need* any "tolerance" lessons to want to marry another girl. When I was 6 years old, I would agonize over whether I liked Bo, Luke, or Daisy Duke best on the Dukes of Hazzard. (

No, the tolerance training won't put any ideas about love and sex in a kid's head that aren't there already. But it will make school a kinder place. And I know I'd have benefited in middle school and high school if my guidance counselors hadn't tried to...oh, how do I put it?..."alter my sexual identity" by attempting to convince me that I was a straight girl going through a phase.

Teaching kids about homosexuality will not make them homosexual. Likewise, teaching kids about sex will not make them have sex. Fundies seem to have a problem with this basic concept. Maybe it's because they think preaching Christianity will make people Christian.

The indoctrination of our children will be presented to the parents as learning the skills to become tolerant of others whose families are different from their own. As the manipulation progresses, little Jeannie and Bobby will be led to believe it's perfectly fine to grow up and have the choice of falling in love with their own sex and become married to one another.

The indoctrination will begin when your children enter the world with a fundy family . It will continue as they approach the age of puberty and but may fall away sometime into college. a certain percentage of ALL children will grow up to have a sexuality not 100% heterosexual (the majority ACTUALLY since 100% het is the extreme)
So, say no more than 1% is exclusively or predominantly gay (an underestimate but WTF it isn't a numbers game): we're still part of the human race, no danger to the species, have some survival value (no offspring, therefore commitment to siblings' kids), we're just part of the continuum.
The issues raised by this fundie bitch and people like her, is that the rules made by a particular ME tribe of goatfuckers 5000 years ago, to differentiate themselves from another bunch of ME savages were very big on exclusion, expulsion and destruction of the other.
Is this really what we want an enlightened civilisation to reflect?
