[Re: Atheists.]
Wow, how profound....and they think we live the fantasy.... No wonder Darwin was so tormented. He was definitely demon possessed and I believe that God was trying to reach him through all his maladies. One thing for sure, his fear was well founded. I wonder if he repented at his last breath?

For what? He was a Christian - he even trained for the ministry. Jesus said you should believe and be baptized. Paul said you're saved by faith and God's grace, not by believing in all that OT nonsense about magic fruit and talking snakes.
Huh? How is living without belief in imperceptible beings a fantasy? I thought that was just accepting what to the best of our knowledge is reality. . . .
Also, how do you know Darwin was "definitely" demon possessed?
You do live in a fantasy. The only people who say Darwin was tormented are fundies. He wasn't possessed by your fantasy demons. He was old, and ill, which happens to us all at the end of our lives.
And no, he never repented or recanted his belief in the Theory of Evolution.
Did I cover it all? Yes. Okthanksbye!
and they think we live the fantasy...He was definitely demon possessed...
You DO live in a fantasy. I'm not sure myself if demon creatures are real, but if they were, I'm sure they would have better things to do than possess people and make them wonder, learn, and think for themselves.
I don't think this is really fundie, as he seems to be unaware of the Lady Hope PRATT. No true fundie ever leaves home without it.
Anyway, "I'm real sorry for observing the natural word and creating a theory that will unify biology and is consistent with reality to the point that it will stand up to scientific scrutiny for at least the next 150 years despite the constant criticism it will face from those who do not like its implications" is probably a hard thing to say in one breath, especially if it's your last one.
Atheist are bothered by our prayers to God because unlike a little child pretending--- they "KNOW" good and darn well that God exists. Otherwise they could just view our beliefs as in a "imaginary" person, and it would not bother them. We would just be closing our eyes and bowing our heads and speaking to a pretend friend.
So close, and yet so far.
When we see a little child play with an imaginary friend, no one gets angry. We adults "know" the child's pretend friend does not really exist, so we are okay with it. In fact, we find it cute. When we see you crazy people talking to yourselves or someone that is not there, on the street corner or or on the bus, you are either ignored or made fun of. But you are not hated. However, when you try to compel us to be involved in your delusions, we know we must protect ourselves, through the court or otherwise.
I've fixed the errors you found profound.
Oh- and the demons? Try lithium. They're scared of that.

Darwin started out as a rather orthodox Anglican who had wanted to become a country clergyman, but his religious beliefs gradually evolved toward agnosticism; in his biography, he wrote things like
"I can indeed hardly see how anyone ought to wish Christianity to be true; for if so the plain language of the text seems to show that the men who do not believe, and this would include my Father, Brother and almost all my best friends, will be everlastingly punished. And this is a damnable doctrine." (p. 87)
So, with that said, Darwin was turned off by your cult BECAUSE of your cult writings and their OBVIOUS contradiction to the natural world. He also left Christianity because of the obvious immoralities within its bibles pages. He did not do a deathbed confession, which was usually FORCED out of people during that time.. as his family was present during his last days. His writings also confirm that many of his closest family and friends were also non-theistic, agnostic, atheist, or at least non-christian... they would have protected Darwin from the near death vultures who wish to take advantage of a troubled time to force a cult conversion.
He was definitely demon possessed and I believe that God was trying to reach him through all his maladies.
So any time someone gets sick, it's your sadistic asshole of a deity punishing someone? Nice.
Darwin was a timid man. He knew his findings were going to be controversial, and he knew he was going to be tormented by people like you. But his conviction to the truth lead him to publish his findings, and world has been a slightly less ignorant place.
From elsewhere in the thread. Emphasis (in italics) mine.
All they have to do is not watch, or simply hit the mute button during the prayer. If an atheist was being inaugurated he could simply choose not to have prayer. But this is Obama's, and it's his choice.
As much as I hate to admit, I kinda agree with this.
Confused?
