God is not impressed by those who resort to using common sense. It is all too common, and stnks most of the time, because people are selfish and sinful without God. Their common sense is influenced by Satan. It's his realm we live in, you know.

And that just says it all, right there.
I suspect that Normal Norma doesn't realise that 'common' has a meaning above and beyond 'cheap, declassé, ugly, worthless etc'.
Hey, Norma, it is the same root as commune, community, and it means something shared, unity, available to all etc. Try looking up an on-line dictionary. You'll find it under Letter C (Remember Sesame Street?) But don't go into the Letter D, which is where Demons live! And Devil! Woooooo!
Try also to grow up.
Umm, yeah... and people wonder why I left the faith...
\BTW, that kind of logic is what led to Jonestown, Waco, and a host of other atrocities, because "God told someone to tell you to... (fill in the blank)
If that's where common sense comes from, I think I like this Satan guy. In the Bible, he never did any evil except for afflicting Job while acting on God's orders and he encouraged people to think for themselves. Oh sure, the Bible claims he's the evil one but it fails to provide anything to back that up. I think he was framed by the real villain.
I am impressed by how wonderful Satan's realm is.
The incredible natural beauty, the people I love, the conversations I've had with the smart people I've met, the books I've read - I could go on and on. Satan does a good job.
What has your god done lately, Norma? Punish people for enjoying Satan's realm?
If an all powerful God can't counteract Satan's influence, then he isn't all powerful, and therefore not a God. And please don't give me that "free will" speech, since using free will for anything other than choosing to kiss God's ass for all eternity will lead you straight to hell.
Well, it is true that common sense frequently turns out to be inadequate or even total bullshit, often because some chump's tried to apply it to an uncommon situation, or simply because it's never actually been tested by application at all. However, Norma, it seems you've quite forgotten that, contrary to your above assertion that it is not "of god", religions and the existence of gods have themselves been held to be common sense, by whole civilisations, for millennia - in fact, they practically epitomise it.
Er, as I understand it, God made Fitzroy Road, and Primrose Hill, and Camden, and London, and England, and the UK, and Europe, and the Northern Hemisphere, and the World, and the Solar System, and the Galaxy, and the Universe . . . and . . . and . . . (that's just my own personal address).
What the hell did Satan ever make?
His realm, my arse.
What you are saying, Norma, is that God is incompetent. At least, that is my common-sensical take on it.
Your view is clearly that God is not impressive.
Hardly surprising, really, as there appears to be no such thing.

Kinda like Hotel California, eh? Maybe if we stab her with our steely knvies, we can kill the beast that is Normal Norma.
Good gods, she's so holed up in her bunker I don't think we'll ever dig her out. Why would God give us common sense and then tell us not to use it? If eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil made man sinful, and God made it, it could be said that man would have been sin-free were it not for God, yes? The fact that Satan kills considerably fewer people than God ever did in the Bible leads me to think he's a fair deal better than God.
I'd go on, but I had next to no sleep last night..
Satan is a myth. God is a myth, too.
Normal Norma is an oxymoron; Maybe just a moron, come to think of it.
...people are selfish and sinful without God.
1. I know this idea will bounce right off the U.S.S. Enterprise-style (NCC-1701, no bloody A, B, C, orrrr D!) shields fundies erect around their brains, but you may want to look into what Ayn Rand had to say about being "selfish".
2. In the field of Information Theory, the word "sin", or "sinful" is what is termed "noise". Noise is the non-information data included in most statements. In other words, "sin" has no real or objective meaning. The fact that it can mean whatever any individual wants it to mean robs it of informational content.
3. God is not impressed by those who resort to using common sense.
When I was in junior high/high school I attended Christian schools (one hardshell Baptist and one Assembly of God). I wanted so badly to share in the experience my classmates were having when they went up front for altar calls--speaking in tongues, being laid out by the Holy Spirit, etc. I tried my best to get involved and gain data on what was happening. When I complained that nothing seemed to be happening to me I was told that I should "stop thinking with your mind and start feeling with your heart".
That was the very moment Christianity lost me as a convert and cheated itself of someone who would have been the mightiest winner of souls since Billy Sunday.
It's both easy and lazy to propose a god that encourages both stupidity and the avoidance of common sense when you yourself are both stupid and lacking in common sense.
No matter how much you'd like there to be a god in your own image, ultimately, it's all just a silly fantasy for weak-minded people who have no common sense. There are no magical beings watching over or influencing you.
You can either join the rest of us in the real world or stay wrapped in your vapid cocoon, avoiding responsibility and praying to a non-existent supernatural thing.
[ Their common sense is influenced by Satan. ]
I am not religious.
My common sense tells me not to put my hand in the deep fryer at work. If my common sense was influenced by an evil creature, don't you think he would want me to hurt myself?
Normal Norma :
Hey mom, everyone else is going to jump off a bridge, should I do the same? To do otherwise would demonstrate the use of common sense, and we all know common sense is the work of the devil.
Normal Norma's mom :
Yes dear, do what the others do, because that will surely show jebus how much you love him.
Normal human being observing Norma and her psycho mother:
O_o
"Their common sense is influenced by Satan. It's his realm we live in, you know."
This is Satan's realm? Of course it all makes sense. Earth is hell already. So if I die in sin I just stay here? Sounds perfect. I rather be a ghost on Earth haunting people I don't like than up in heaven kissing your sky daddy's ass.
"God is not impressed by those who resort to using common sense"
Then God is stupid. And by the fact we use common sense, we Atheists are therefore superior to God.
If this is Satan's realm, I'm impressed. I was told it was all hellfire and torture; instead it's blue skies, public libraries, and Peking Duck.
Now I'm hungry.
Satan = common sense?
So Satan tells me not to stick my face into a running chain saw.
Satan tells me not to jump off cliffs without a parachute.
Satan tells me to look before running across a road.
Satan tells me change a baby's diaper.
Satan tells me... well, everything sensible I guess.
Pretty good dude I'd say.
Being born into Satan's real is God's punishment on us miserable sinners for daring to be born to apple thieves.
Clearly we deserve it.
However, He promised that if we killed his son he'd call it square. We did, 2000 years ago, but people still have Original Sin(TM). Ripped off!
@Android R
Who has that picture of Deadpool saying "My common sense is tingling"? And underneath it has: 'COMMON SENSE, so rare, it's a goddamned superpower.'
That was my first thought, too. Here you are:

Common sense is too common, therefore bad? So in other words, it's too mainstream. Of all the things to be a hipster about...
...did I just prove that fundies = hipsters?
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
