If this fundie is counting kills by people with the only common denominator is the disbelief in any god (aside from atheism=communism) then why don´t we just count kills done by theists. Pope John Paul II's anti condom stance in Africa has resulted in untold amounts of suffering since we honestly don't know how many people could be saved if the church endorsed and distributed condoms since people don't use it and because the church told them so.

We can lump a sizeable amount of HIV deaths on him... Considering there are roughly 25 million HIV sufferers in Africa a fair chunk of those are due to his policies. You don't need a gun to kill people.

Not to mention Pat Robertson's funding of various coups and support for south american dictators/death squads.

And the various armed christian in Africa such as the LRA who have death counts of 5 million as a super rape gang.

NONE of the people you've named killed in the name, or for the sake of atheism - they were all part of facist governments that essentially espoused government worship. Any kind of worship, be it religious or of government, that frowns against criticism, will inevitably be dangerous. Atheism has NEVER shied away from such criticism, and has never had to kill to silence its critics.

Edit: After looking through the site for a bit I have to say you're right, it is an obvious-if-well-done poe. However, the quote is from a comment left on the site, not from an article on the site itself. So this could well be a genuine fundie. They're renowned for not getting satire. Plus, alot of commenters on that site, even non-fundies, don't seem to have gotten the joke.

She furthers ignorance, and an ideal damaging to the development of children. Her destructive influence will harm millions of Christian indoctrinated individuals judgement.

Pat Robertson, is responsible for propagating the same tired hate rhetoric, scientific ignorance and usual fundamentalist nonsense. He will likely have cost the nation, or even the world, billions economically through inspired scientific ignorance, medical ignorance, and overt faith-inspired hate crime.

The former five did not act in the name of atheism. The latter three acted in the name of various Christian sects. Your comparison does not hold water. Christianity, is mass oppression.
