Christians, would you say that the persecution has already begun?

In this day and age, people murder, and kill. Churches are being burned down by radicals, I've been hearing that Atheists are putting up anti-religion ads on buses in England, and they're even trying to take God out of the law in some states. Today I saw truck with the writing "God is a lie" on it. Christians are mocked and ridiculed on TV shows too. Not to mention a very liberal president is about to enter office in the United States.

As soon as they took God out of school, school shootings went up, as did gangs, and other violent activities. I know that as soon as God is removed from the laws, crime will increase dramatically.

More and more people move away from God each and every day.I truly believe we are well on our way to the end of days. Christians, do you too feel as if the persecution has already begun?

I find this fascinating. According to Byron here, telling a Christian that you think they are wrong is "persecuting" them.

In this day and age, people murder, and kill.

Well, it must be the end-times, 'cos that's never happened before. Usually they just do one or the other.

There is no school sanctioned prayer time in my country, and we have almost no school shootings. They are so rare, that, when one does happen, it makes national headlines. So please, drop this line about putting God in public schools. You actually have no evidence that God is what stopped the shootings. Perhaps the fact that guns are so easy to acquire in America has something to do with it...

Yet another fundie who does not understand what persecution actually is. And no a christian not getting their own way is not persecution.

Also just so you know correlation does not imply causation. From what I remeber of Kent Hovinds slides which he used to make the same point that you are the trends predate prayer being taken out of school thus showing that the former event was not the cause of the latter.

Yeah, Byron, there was an atheist public transport campaign, but that was in response to a set of Christian adverts of the "Believe or Burn" variety that were placed on buses first.

One rule for you lot, and another rule for everybody else, eh?

Something, which given human history, can hardly be called new.

Churches are being burned down by radicals,
Citation motherfucker!

I've been hearing that Atheists are putting up anti-religion ads on buses in England,
Washington state too. And I for one thing it's great that such a mistrusted minority is able to express their freedom of speech without fear of persecution.

and they're even trying to take God out of the law in some states.
As superintendent Chalmers once said "This is a public school. God as no place in these walls. Just like facts have no place in organized religion."

Today I saw truck with the writing "God is a lie" on it.
Today I saw several trucks with Jesus fish on them.

Christians are mocked and ridiculed on TV shows too.
You know what? Until you people are actively dragged out of your homes, forced into camps, and beaten and threatened by the government, you are not being persecuted. And when that day comes, I will fucking fight for your freedoms, even though I know you would try your damn hardest to destroy mine if given the same position.

Not to mention a very liberal president is about to enter office in the United States.
Who is a Christian.

Let's play a game, Byron. In each round, you will present a case of Christians being assaulted by non-Christians due to their Christianity, and I'll provide a corresponding murder. You get to choose whether it's a murder of non-Christians for their lack of Christianity or (my personal favorite at the moment) a murder of a non-heterosexual or non-gender-conformist (at the hands of a Christian) for their non-heterosexuality or non-gender-conformity.

Now, I'm stacking the odds in your favor, here -- I have to come up with murders, while you can get by with assaults. First person to run out of examples shuts up.

Yeah, funny that. If he's so sure that Christians are persecuted, let's put two cars in a parking lot. One with a Jesus fish, another with a Darwin fish. See which one gets vandalized first.

[In this day and age, people murder, and kill. Churches are being burned down by radicals,]

In the middle east, athiests and other non christians are being beaten to death on a daily bases. You don't hear them bitch about it.

[I've been hearing that Atheists are putting up anti-religion ads on buses in England, and they're even trying to take God out of the law in some states. ]

You can put up you're "go to church, you need Jesus ads" why can't they post theirs?

Religion and law are not supposed to be together. It's in the fist fucking amendment.

[As soon as they took God out of school, school shootings went up, as did gangs, and other violent activities.]

Actually, things like that were going up even when their was forced prayer in schools. It's been on the rise since the mid 70's or so.

[Christians, do you too feel as if the persecution has already begun? ]

Removing "in god we trust" from the dollar bill, removing teacher led prayer in schools, or removing the ten commandments from government property, isn't persecution.
You just passed a bill to take away homosexual's rights to marriage, and you think you're being persecuted? Please...

WE STOPPED FORCING GOD ON PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS ABOUT THE SAME TIME PUBLIC SCHOOLS STOPPED BEING ONE ROOM SHACKS WITH 2 DOZEN STUDENTS.
Theirs no fucking way their ignorant of this. You might as well blame the rise in school shootings on cars, since those appeared at about the same time to.
