Yes he prayed to the thing that caused the birds to fly into the engines.

I guess he sure helped those Saudi pilots on 9/11 too, didn't he?

Old Viking

Logically, then, I must assume that God is also responsible for airliner crashes in which all perish.

1/24/2009 11:39:06 PM

Where was God in all the other airline crashes in the world???!!!

1/24/2009 11:43:41 PM

It bears repeating.

Where was God in all the other airline crashes in the world???!!!

Even if he did pray (and I certainly wouldn't fault him for it in such a situation), that doesn't mean it worked. He has a -LOT- of flying time under his belt and he's certified in several different kinds of flying. I think it would be incredibly much better proof of god if you sent -me- up flying a plane and then have that happen, since I haven't even flown as a passenger since I was younger than 5 and prefer not to even drive larger vehicles since the majority of my driving time I've been in tiny cars.

I suppose on the plus side there are people who realize what a big deal it was, even if they ascribe the outcome to the wrong cause. The 'no big deal' people were starting to bug me (to them I say imagine doing a belly flop at high speed and you're the size of a plane).

1/24/2009 11:59:27 PM

So where was God during all the OTHER plane crashes in the last, oh, ten or twenty years? I'm sure those pilots were praying, too, but maybe this guy prayed "right"?

Observable Reality

Good to see that you treat pilots the same way you do doctors--when a highly trained, skilled professional with years of experience saves lives, it was actually a case of Goddidit. Why don't you learn how to fly an airplane, fly it to cruising altitude, and then turn off the engines and take your hands off the controls. See what happens when you leave things to God.

Bender Bending Rodriguez

Um, it was a RIVER crash, not a PLAIN crash.

1/25/2009 12:18:17 AM

I never realized that the people on the 9/11 flights didn't pray.... Oh, wait the ones who crashed into the towers did pray and I suppose god granted their wish.

Your god has quirky ways of helping humans out.

1/25/2009 12:23:52 AM

You clearly are underestimating the skills of the pilot.

Travelling Hobo

If God was so great why did he allow the birds to fly into the engine intakes in the first place? This seems like the least complicated way of of saving those on-board.

1/25/2009 12:34:58 AM

Where was God when FOUR planes crashed on 9/11?!

1/25/2009 12:44:25 AM

Giving credit to your imaginary friend completely strips the honor that the pilot deserves for his amazing display of skill. You're douchebags.

1/25/2009 12:51:24 AM

Oh shut up with your witless babble. You don't give 2 shits about that airplane one way or another but are glad to be able to pretend to care, because it lets you talk about God.

The plane landing, was simply good luck. A miracle would be if you got a clue.

1/25/2009 12:52:32 AM

Pretty sure this was going through his mind

Oh cool I landed!

1/25/2009 1:01:51 AM

a mind far far away

Of course god is everywhere to you people when you read god into everything. Hey look! I took a shit and didn't bleed to death! Must have been GOD!

1/25/2009 1:04:15 AM

I see a lot of posts here asking about all the other plane crashes that god didnt save people from. Well, obviously God was angry with those people, so he did what any loving God would do and killed every bastard on that flight. Thats right, everyone who has ever died in a plane crash deserved it. because it was Gods will!

The Jamo

Laws of physics =/= god

Sheik yer Bouti

I am certain that he did not waste time praying.

I am sure that he was intently focused on the task at hand.

A Friend

You people at RR are warts in the asshole of humanity. The pilot did a hell of a job landing that PLANE(the correct fucking spelling). You asswipes just can't give credit where credit is do. You all bend over backwards to make any scenario look like god/jeebus had a hand in it. Now if the PLANE had crashed and every one on board had died, you raptards would be fapping and claiming that god did it because god is punishing us.

Pule Thamex

How many people in the US are Whooshmeisters? Certainly, they are not willing to concede heroism and capability to a fellow human. Simply because they can not conceive of heroism and capability in themselves. They presume them to be mythical traits only to be read about in works of fiction.

Very similar, in fact, to their inability to imagine that someone doesn't believe in their God or any other religion's God. Hence, their general incomprehension.

How, to confuse a Whooshmeister, just say your an atheist, and he'll be thinking about what your religious rites could possibly be.

Love ya, Pule.

1/25/2009 2:06:46 AM

I still say the pilot did a damn good job.

1/25/2009 2:16:13 AM

If so, why did god cause the plane to crash in the first place? I guess it's just another example of how big an insecure prick he is. Needs attention.

1/25/2009 2:30:02 AM

So where was God on 9/11, hmm? Unless he was on the side of the hijackers (after all, he's their god too)...
