"Aside from everyone being Catholic?" So ... being Catholic is worse than, say, the rampant hunger in the Dark Ages? (Poor farming techniques, low population, and frequent war between small feudal domains is mostly what made them 'dark' - and distinguished them (500-900 or 1000 AD)from the 'High Middle Ages' (roughly 1000-1400 AD, and having at least as much in common with the Renaissance as with the earlier medieval times.)

Jesus FREAK: I have read your articles (most of them on the other sites) and they were all refuted by real scientists (that don't have PhD's from diploma mills and got them in relevant fields of research). What else can be said? Ah, yes. Naturalistic aproach. Good idea. Observe nature, get facts, create hipothesis then test them. If it(hypothesis) doesn't match with reality, make a new one, until you have a working theory. You don't need bible in any of those steps.

Undecided

Okay, I have been successfully trolled.

Jesus FREAK, the article you copied focuses on the author's experience, only vaguely cherry-picking sociological studies as real evidence for the thesis. Evolution remains the central theme of biology as a pure science. It's true that the occasional applied science requires the evolutionary perspective less often, but this is analogous to the case of how a mechanical engineer isn't required to know the Standard Model and General Relativity in order to do his job.

In any case, the problems of cladistics, environmental science and many other subfields of biology now tacitly require the theory of evolution in order to be approached. If you can provide a theory which can better handle such problems, I'm listening.

[b]Last I looked, my choice of religion had nothing to do with catholicism. Your religion on the other hand, is.

Well, if all false religions are an offshoot of catholicism, then (of christianity) only gnostic christianity as well as jewish christianity are true religions.
They were the only larger groups of early christanity, before pauline christianity erradicated all competition and the whole christianity became, so to speak, catholic.

Blaidd Drwg (Bad Wolf)

In the year 1054 a star exploded (It actually exploded much earlier, but 1054 is when the light reached Earth, and was visible to Humans). We see the remnants of this supernova as the "Crab Nebula, in the constellation of Cancer. Chinese astronomers saw, and recorded the event, so did Arabic astronomers, and even Native Americans. Europeans, however, appear not to have noticed this, even though it was clearly visible in daytime, and lasted for several months. In Europe, at that time, the "Dark Ages" were in full swing, with the Church in near-complete control of virtually every aspect of life, not only for the masses, but for the educated people as well, yet they appear to have ignored an amazing sight in the heavens, which every person could see, if they only looked up.

An age is not called "dark" because the light does not shine, but because men refuse to see it.
