Quote# 5724

The Bible describes beings called Nephilim who were apparently a fallen anglel/ human hybrid. The Bible says that they were men (always male apparently) of great renown. They possessed special, perhaps even super human abilities. Some say that the AC will be such a hybrid or, at the very least, be in league with them. Hence, the wonders and miracles he is expected to be capable of.

So there were only male Nephilim? Who did they mate with? I would think regular human women would have been a bit too small. Ouch.

In Xenosaga Nephilim was female, a child, and the spirit of Mary Magdalene (Geek, I know). Now that I think about it, I can only imagine what fundies would say about that series.

Dr. Shrinker

The myth of the Nephilim is the bible's explanation of the heroic "god-men" of other cultures, such as Heracles and Gilgamesh. Deity/human hybrids are very common in various mythologies. Christians rarely seem to to learn about this explanation, as it comes dangerously close to suggesting that Jesus was of the same ilk.

a mind far far away

If the AC is a Nephilim, then, according to the bible, you guys and your god are screwed. God tried to kill them in the flood, but failed. Of course, god couldn't defeat iron chariots either, so it doesn't surprise me that something supernatural would be beyond his power as well.
