I don't care how old you are, the child could be in high school, it isn't okay for our children to learn how to properly use condoms.

Teens have sex. Teens have always had sex and they always will.
Not teaching them about contraceptives are NOT going to make them have less sex, just less safe sex.
There are tons of studies that point towards this, but the most illuminating thing to do is always to take a look at the teen pregnancy, std and abortion rates in the bible belt, and compare that to more liberal areas of the US and the world.
No sex for you, "Cherished". I don't care how old you are, or even if you're married. No sex for you. Paul said so, so STFU.
Yes, it's so much better for children to get STDs and have unwanted pregnancies than protect themselves.
I just knew this was from RR before I even looked. Idiots.
True story:
I learned about sexual health and birth control (including condoms) in high school.
I was a virgin until I was 23.
The only person I have ever had sex with is my wife (and vice versa).
We have never had any unwanted pregnancies (I use condoms, she uses the pill...we do it in conjunction!).
It's not that hard.
I don't have any bodies in the freezer nor make blood sacrifices to Dahok.
What is wrong with learning about condoms, exactly?
Yeah, right, because all we should do is teach them that sex before marriage is naughty and that Sweet baby Jesus will cry if you do it.... and we should expect teen pregnancy to drop 100% within a year of this.
Cretins live in their own little fantasy land.
Ah, the old "ignorance as birth sex control" method.
@JR - fundies just don't want kids to have sex. They don't care if they get STDs or pregnant; they just say "good for you"
It is vital that children know about contraception and safe sex, they are going to do it whetever you say as it is human nature! Or would you prefer your children to know nothing about sex and possibly contract either a horrible sexually transmitted disease or get unexpectedly pregnant the first time they have sex?
As the product of an abstinence-only school (ironically, my church filled in the gap by saying "Don't have sex yet, but if you do, here's how to do it responsibly") I can only tell you that you are dreadfully mistaken. Our school president in middle school (that's 9-13 year olds) was pregnant. Maybe if she knew how to use a condom, she would have graduated from high school.
Stupid cunt. Do you LIKE seeing teens get pregnant due to not having adequate information regarding birth control?
Then again, considering where this is from your sorry ass probably WANTS more little babies that can't get fed. Fucking idiot.
Rev. Caldwell: Show the average teenage male a condom and his mind turns to thoughts of lust.
Toby Ziegler: Show the average teenage male a lug wrench and his mind turns to thoughts of lust.
Once again, The West Wing proves a point.
Yes, because that nifty little abstinence-only education deal that we, the taxpayers, have been paying for for about eight-plus years has worked out so well.

IF YOU GET A VIRUS IT'S YOUR FAULT FOR NETWORKING WITH TOO MANY OTHER COMPUTERS!
And seat belts can't be used because they make people driver more often since they feel safe.
And who knows what kind of crazy shit I'll try next time I go rock climbing with a safety harness and a belayer. I might hurt myself.
... Yeah, if an unwanted pregnancy happens then they can just get an abortion. Or be saddled with a kid.
And STDs? Well, if they get one they obviously deserve it!
That's right, much better for them to get knocked up or catch an STD.
I don't think sex ed should be given to children at too young an age, but in high school it's a must. Abstinence only doesn't work and never has worked, because teenagers are full of hormones and they are going to fuck no matter what you do. At least nowadays we can teach them how to avoid some of the more unpleasant consequences.
so you would rather have them have unprotected sex and get pregnant and STDs?
Because as has been proven over and over again, abstinence only education does not work, teens will have sex no matter what anybody does, it's better to teach them how to use condoms so at least there is some chance that they will have safe sex.
@Cherished:
"[...] it isn't okay for our children to learn how to properly use condoms."
Then you won't have a problem with your kids getting AIDS, I presume.
Although it seems like mostly everyone here has the right idea, I'd like to comment.
Guess what? People back in the days of the Hebrews and Israel and whatnot were getting married at the age of 15, maybe younger. Oh noes! They also had multiple wives! Oh really? And there are multiple references in the Bible to these practices, with little to no criticism! (Feel free to look them up for yourself; I know they exist but I'm lazy.) So whining about a device that can prevent disease, unwanted childbirth and such is unproductive and, in my humble opinion, quite stupid.
The logical corollary is that it's only OK for them to learn the incorrect way.
Strange. Nobody had to teach me. It just came naturally. Or are fundie teenagers particularly thick and lacking in braincells?
Who the hell gets a blow job while wearing a condom when it's your wife?!?!?! Flavored condoms...so silly..Crazy fundies.
The wife hates hubby's garlic taste? Or things are very 'interesting' in the bedroom...
Bristol Palin.
That is all.
You have to be taught how to properly use a condom BEFORE you become sexually active. And yes, that included both boys AND girls.
You should also learn some basic human anatomy and how the genitals work. It's embarrassing to see boys and men mixing up the vulva with the vagina, or to hear boys and men thinking that women could hold in menstrual blood, among other stupid things.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
