His Bride: He didn't use a Bible the second time. That speaks volumnes, doesn't it?
Kyrie Eleison: Yes it does. Since he didn't use a Bible on the oath that counts, I think we need to know why a Bible wasn't used or if anything else was used in its place! It isn't right to use a Bible in front of the American people and then not have one behind the scenes.

The Lincoln Bible was used for symbolic reasons... your just now catching on?
He is not required to swear on a bible and he was certainly not required to take the oath a second time. The second oath was so that he wouldn't have fundies claiming that he wasn't actually President. He's not going to waste the next four years taking the oath everyday to make sure all the kooks and nuts are happy.
You know, if you retards would stop and think for a second (I know, it's a stretch), you would realize that if the man truly is an atheist and/or Muslim, swearing on the Bible means diddly-squat to him anyway.
It's a good thing the Constitution makes the oath binding without the use of a holy book, then, isn't it?
"I think we need to know why a Bible wasn't used..."
No, fuckface. You don't need to know anything. What you need to do is get over it and get on with your life.
"or if anything else was used in its place!"
Go ahead, say it. Like a Koran, because he's an evil, black Muslim who hates America and wants to sell us all to the terrorists. Why do you fundies jump straight to the worst possible conclusions rather than the most logical ones?
He swore the oath on a Bible. One word was out of place, so he redid it. Neither God nor the rules of the English language care whether an adverb is placed before or after the verb it modifies, so the first oath was a valid oath as far as God is concerned. The Constitution, though, has specific words; so they redid it to satisfy the law.

Yes, it means that the United States of America is a secular country and the bible is unnecessary.
Is that what you were referring to?
You know, it's funny. Obama redid the oath to avoid this sort of controversy. You know, saying that he wasn't officially president? Since they can't have that, they're focusing on the fact that he didn't use a bible the second time around.
I wonder what they would have focused on if he had.
Gaaahhh! When will this idjits get it? Even if the oath was said wrong or if there was no oath Obama would have still become President at 12:00pm January 20th (or 21st, I can't remember what day it was, lol!) as per the Constitution.
So he probably didn't even had to say the oath twice or at all. But, because of people like these fucktarts they did it again to satisfy them, and the law. But it doesn't really matter what fucking book he said it on, as far as I know he could have used MAD magazine.

Implemented policies speak volumes. Ceremonies say nothing at all.
...but Obama did use Michelle's family's Bible for his 2nd inauguration oath.
