Japan. Mostly Shinto (worship of ancestral spirits) and Zen Buddhist.
A country in which the nearest things that even remotely resemble Christianity to the vast majority of people there, are Western-style white weddings (usually performed after the traditional Shinto wedding ceremony), and Christmas Eve (mostly for couples, and the consumer & commercial opportunities that arises).
Despite the financial problems that country has had in the past, and currently has, Japan is the technological centre of the world, has a thriving (and evolving) traditional & modern culture, and still creates superior animation.
No 'God' required.
I love the smell of destroyed arguments in the morning. Smells like... victory.
