[Responding to the news article about the UMD experiment with quantum teleportation. (which, by the way, is not really related to 'star trek' teleportation)]
It is probably bogus science put on the news to mentally prepare the masses an explaination on why millions vanish from the planet

I'm not really fluent with the mindfreezing maths that quantum physics requires, so I'll go with more mundane explanations as to why millions vanish from the planet.
Wars, famine, disease, accidents, old age, etc.

Yeah...because teleporting a photon across a lab is obviously the first step to teleporting millions of people all over the world. I'm bipolar and even I'm not as paranoid as fundamentalist Christians.
Zimmer: And all the mp3 players would be shaped like crosses and come pre-loaded with hymns.
You mean 144,000 Jews. You don't even read your own book do you? Nobody will notice 144,000 people, that amount die of natural causes daily.
Well, I wouldn't go so far as to say 'probably'. Keep in mind that Scientific Teleportation is replicable... unlike your Rapture which hasn't even happened once.
Despite the promise of Jesus that it would happen in the lifetime of his listeners.
Oh hey, if any part of the Bible is wrong, then it's all wrong.
*cues the star trek music* Space- the final frontier. But also a PLACE where rr people are going to meet with CREATOR! These are the voyages of starsheep "Jesusorter". Our continuing mission is to explore strange, disturbing minds and teleport them far, far away, to boldly go where no sane human would ever go before!(not voluntarily at least) *music plays then fades*

Yes, because the liberal media elite were the first to get the impending rapture memo from your sky daddy.
Typical - rather than reading the (very interesting) article, they start ranting about the rapture, the Mayan calendars, 2012, spending their tax dollars and conspiracy theories...
...but when a poster finally (and correctly) summarizes the physics behind it ('it's the quantum state that is teleported') they are asked to 'calm down'!
I can't stand much more of this world, please take me home Dear Father! [whoops - been reading too much RR! How do you insert praying emoticons and fucking awful jesus graphics again?]
Millions? I thought it was just going to be 8,000 morbidly obese, toothless trailer park residents. Trust me, honey, they don't need to invent anything to explain it...no one will notice.

Oh yes. Probably.
The only people expecting that to happen any time soon are posting at RR.

No, we're going to explain that when it happens with "Quantum Gravity". You're all going to have spontaneously collapsed into mini black-holes then evaporate by Hawking radiation.
This has the extra benefit of not only explaining how millions of people vanished from the planet, but also why it only effected the densest.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
