[To a professing Wiccan objecting to that nonsense]The very fact that you refer to yourself as a witch and then tell me that halloween is your most important day is reason enough to not celebrate it. Witchcraft is evil, since halloween is also your most important religious day, halloween is also evil. Thank you but I will spend that time with other Christians while witches are out trying to jumpstart their brooms.

Wichcraft, Wicca, and official magic are three different things. Besides, any half-decent witch shouldn't have to jumpstart her broom.

To be fair, I have known a number of practicing Wiccans who did call themselves \"witches\" and who even claimed that they could -- and did --cast real magic spells.

They didn't think they could cast a fireball or magic missile, mind you, or other physically manifested effects like those (they were not quite that deluded), but they seriously thought that their chanted rituals with candles and incense could affect reality in more subtle ways: bringing about desired events, keeping harm at bay, and so on. Obviously, they were totally delusional.

Of course, Christians often do the very same thing. They just call it praying.

Halloween was a pagan celebration of the dead that the Catholics dropped their holiday on top of in an attempt to steal it and change it.

It's one of the few that still carries more of it's origional meaning than altered Christian bend. Easter and Christmas still carry pagan aspect to
