And staying alive in a fish's stomach for three full days isn't the slightest bit ridiculous.

It's so clear when it's explained properly.

Let me see if I have this right - being in a fish for 3 days is OK, and coming out alive afterwards is OK, too. Also the story of being dead for 3 days and then alive again, no problemo, you're OK with that one, and even after you had spikes driven through your hands or wrists and also your feet or ankles, walking out of a tomb and and rolling tombstones around, plausible story...
The ridiculous part is to suggest that Jonah died?
Or that he did the fish deal and the death hat trick at the same time?

Boy, if you were to write up a fluffy puppy story for the fundies to buy into, how would you ever know at which point they'd decide you'd gone one step too far?
Why not just say that Jonah was another name for Jesus, and he did this 3 day dying gimmick all the time?
Somebody should collect all the most assinine, ridiculous, unfuckingbeleivable shit stories ever known to mankind, gather them all into a big book and see which ones the dummies would fall for, hell, maybe all of them.
Oh, wait a minute...
