"IMO the answer to your question is that conviction would require death and to kill them would create such an outcry globally and in our own nation that Gitmo would have already been history."
There probably wouldn't be much of an outcry if we gave Khalid Sheik Mohammad the lethal injection. I mean, aside from the traditional anti-death penalty protesters that is.
"Gitmo was the only logical solution... hold them indefinitely"
Republicunts have a strange sense of logic. I'd tell you to examine our Constitution but, alas, it has no pictures....
"from effecting holocaustic Jehad"
"Holocaustic"? "Jehad"? Learn grammar and spelling, fucktard.
"thereby denying them eventual American citizenship and rights."
I had no idea they WANTED U.S. citizenship. Pay more attention to the news.

Later on, Buzsaw spouts this jewel...
"Imo, the military knows better who's innocent and who's not. What would be the military's motivation for rounding up innocents?"
1/30/2009 5:17:03 AM
Blind like a bat.

Percy Q. Shun
And a piss-poor American.
1/30/2009 12:36:24 PM
...but how do you know that they're genuinely conspiring to commit terrorist atrocities on American soil without having gathered evidence against them and put them on trial?
America does still have the presumption of innocence yano... well, in theory.
1/30/2009 12:57:19 PM
So I suppose that Buzsaw(any relation to Buzzardhut on RR I wonder ?) would not object to the military taking over the entire American legal system seeing as they are always right.
1/30/2009 1:00:38 PM
In what bizarre world do you live where executing convicted terrorists is more controversial than keeping innocent people in prison without trial?
1/30/2009 1:23:24 PM
We must abolish freedom to preserve liberty, or maybe it's the other way around.
1/30/2009 2:58:49 PM
Great, so if the military decided you were guilty of conspiracy to terrorist activities, hauled you to a base, tortured you till you say something...anything, just to get them to stop, denied you due process, and held you years on end, denying you due process...you'd be cool with that?
Also, while the world might not like executing these people, the outcry would be far less if they were tried like anyone else would. If they were found guilty, then go from there...although I don't see what benefit would be gained from execution, as they just start telling their people that you're now SANCTIONING the killing of them, as opposed to the sanctioned torture...excuse me, "aggressive interrogation" you're using now.

This reads like GWB wrote it - "holocaustic"?
1/30/2009 4:10:05 PM
That is the weakest argument for this secret prison that I have ever heard.
1/30/2009 8:16:47 PM
It's fundyland, where Guantanamo is the only logical solution.
1/30/2009 9:44:40 PM
Tell that to James Yee

Ms. Wit in Spades
1. Cheers to Old Viking
2. Jihad doesn't literally mean Holy war, it's the conflict within humanity, often mistranslated by doorknob idiots like you
3.Rights are universal, no matter...anything really, so cool your freaking ass down
I could go on a while, but I spose there's no point for those who don't learn
2/1/2009 2:14:39 AM
WHAT?!!?!?!? Are you trying to claim that all there crimes were spiritual and thus can only be judged by god?
In which case you are saying that they did not commit any crimes that would be recognized in a court of law so there isn't a reason they were arrested.
2/2/2009 12:09:59 AM
so, when the australian govenment asked them to either try or release on of their citizens, the reason they continued to hold him without charge was not because there was no evidence to charge him with anything, but because they didnt want to cause a global outcry by charging and trying an australian citizen after the australian govenment had given them permission to do so? i think i missed that step when learning about logic
6/6/2009 3:55:58 AM
So you are defending democracy and freedom by denying people right to a fair trial? Nice one there. The terrorist have allready won, since you decided to GIVE away the things that they don't want you to have, ie civil rights.
How come most of the countries in the world don't have the death penalty, and still have fewer murders thant the US?
The reason why they are kept there indefinitely is probably because there are little or no evidence to put them on trial with.
