Quote# 57712

[When asking why the creation gods of other religions were false.]

How do you know what they found? IF they found a creator god, it is false. Do you not think it is logical to question one's beliefs in order to prove their validity. If I tell you the sky is green, will you take my word for it or will you go look for yourself? One must test his or her beliefs.
What evidence did they have for their God? They did not/ would not have any.

Now take all of that and apply it to your own religion.

As much evidence as you have, dear, that's what.

2/1/2009 2:46:17 AM

you just summed up the entire atheist perspective in one paragraph...

2/1/2009 2:46:43 AM

What? If they -actually found- a god it's not a true one? How does that work exactly?

It is indeed logical to question one's beliefs, but if the goal is to prove their validity, one is not going to do anything through this questioning except confirm what they believe, whether they're valid or not.

In any case, there's as much evidence for their gods as there is for yours.

Well, as dpareja said. He is close and just fails to apply it to his own religion ;)

A Friend

When you see why you don't believe in other religions skydaddies you'll see why we don't believe in yours. Since you have half a brain, you fail to take that final step.

You see, this is why I stopped buying irony meters. These idiots keep breaking them, and what's worse is that they refuse to replace it once they broke it. I can't afford to keep up.

2/1/2009 3:24:14 AM

Summary: "Gods do not exist."

2/1/2009 3:26:51 AM

There goes another irony meter.

What's that old saying about people who live in glass houses?

2/1/2009 3:50:20 AM

So their books are fiction but yours is not? KTHXBYE

If I tell you the sky is green, will you take my word for it or will you go look for yourself? One must test his or her beliefs.

Oh, that's rich.

2/1/2009 5:36:25 AM

wasn't there someone once who said something about removing beams from your own eye before worrying about other people's splinters...?

how about you test your own beliefs first before you worry about other people's beliefs?
