[Digitized wrote: The economy is falling down around our ankles and we're worried about MARRIAGE? Fix the economy first! I want to have a future, and I'm not really all that concerned with who marries who: I want to have a future job in the computer programming field, which isn't going to happen without a functional economy.]
Cherished wrote: This is the problem right here. James 4:13-15
13Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: 14Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. 15For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
We get so caught up in making plans, for the future, our lives, etc. God has promised never to leave or forsake us, and trying to ensure your security by your own works is not trusting God, in essence you are calling Him a liar. He will provide for you, if you humble yourself and ask. Remeber also God isn't going to give us something that is out of line with His will, sorry. God knows what is best for us, and He wants us to look to him. Phillipians 4:6 People have twisted scripture to mean something totally opposite of what God intended. I suppose an argument against me would be John 10:10. The abundance Jesus speaks of isn't a material worldy one. He is referring to the abundance one would know when being totally fulfilled by Christ. Jesus did not die so you could have all the money you want. Is money necessary, yes. Is it the most important? no! Our most prosperous future is held in the scarred hands of our Savior, Jesus Christ. His Word is a lamp to feet, I encourage you to trust fully in Him, and not the economy. We are part of a far better economy, God's economy. We are joint heirs with Christ.
Cherished,

"...We are part of a far better economy, God's economy. ..."
The one built on weak-minded fools giving 10% or more of their income to Pastor Billy Joe Jim Bob every week in order to ensure their place in a mythological heaven when it's too late to ask for a refund? Sounds more like a ponzi scheme to me.

I'm sorry, I don't get the connection between denying gays the right to marry and finding gainful employment. Your god sounds like a classic co-dependent: he'd rather have his followers remain ignorant and helpless except for what he provides instead of encouraging them to be able to take care of themselves.

You mean we should trust God to provide for us, like the destitute SDA's down the road. They have been waiting fer the Lawrd to raise them from the dung-heap they have been living in for the last thirty years. "God knows what is best for us..." Whata duncha dupes. You really believe God has chosen living a impoverished, indebted, life in a filthy dung-heap, as BEST for some people. They are such nice folk's and totally dedicated to the LAWRD. Yet they live in a dung-heap. Praise Jeeeeezus.... How f*cking dumb are you people? Kids with cancer? "It is the will O da LAWRD..." Gee whata swell diety. I'm backing him for sure. Yeah, right.

The Parable of the Talents says otherwise.

Does gay marriage threaten my ability to mate with a female?
No.
Does it threaten my ability to get a job doing fun shit with computers?
No.
Does anything threaten that?
Yes, the economy.
FIX THE ECONOMY.

What part of "I want to have a future job in the computer programming field, which isn't going to happen without a functional economy." does Cherished not understand?

That's news to the slime that build megachurches and swindle their flocks...

Umm no.
If your god existed, you still wouldn't see a giant hand coming out of the sky to hand you food.
God's economy...what the fuck are you talking about?

I must have missed the part where everyone on Rapture Ready gives away all their possessions, just like Luke said.

I'm amazed these people don't just sit in dark rooms waiting to die, since we're all wasting out time planning our futures rather than preparing for "the next life".

"What part of 'I want to have a future job in the computer programming field, which isn't going to happen without a functional economy.' does Cherished not understand?"
I'm thinking Cherished alomst certainly got stuck on the word "future", since, for the RR-tards, the only definition of "future" is "waiting around for my Rapture fantasies to come true" For them, "future" and "this world" don't belong in the same sentence.

I guess this person hasn't heard of the expression, "God helps those who help themselves." Or heard the story of the man on the sunken ship.
