Well I have to disagree with you! Back in 1955 the sup Court banned prayer in public schools.
While I don't know the case, I do know this. PRAYER IS STILL ALLOWED IN SCHOOL. A child can pray quietly, to himself. Teacher led prayer, though, violates the separation of Church and State, and as such, is unconstitutional.
Look back into history and see how this country was in 1900-1950's. We were a nation that was unified with great family and moral ethics, today that's pretty much gone.
No, the 50's was a time of paranoia and xenophobia. Religion was deemed the communist kryptonite, so due to Cold War tensions, it was injected wherever it could on the basis that, I dunno, a communist's hands would start to burn, and he'd start hissing and spewing pea soup at the mention of God, or something. And everyone went along with it, because of McCarthy's Witch Hunt Communist Trials. And the "unified family" was nothing short of a farce. Families were just as dysfunctional then as they are now...only difference was, the moment you stepped foot out the house, everyone plastered on a Stepford Smile, and pretended they were the most perfect family there is, was or ever will be. In truth, it was layers, and layers of lies and misery. Ever wondered why the 60's ushered in such a radical change? Oh right, you blame God not being in schools, not the puritan, repressive atmosphere the people EXACTING these changes grew up in...
No values (if there is they are shallow), broken families, parent less kids, violence has increased over 73% since 1940.
1.) Broken families, because for one, battered women are treated as victims now, and not as "bitches who had it coming." And families are no longer staying together for the children, as they discovered that such a thing, raising kids in such a toxic environment is worse that just getting a divorce by far.
2.) Couples admit that they can't or don't wish to bear the responsibility of children, what's the biggie there?
3.) Correlation =/= causation.
I am a christian and its not a religion, its a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, just like I would have with my wife or friend.
Then the IRS will be contacting your church about back taxes.
Try it. In no other "Religion" does any of them offer this "Jesus said " If you seek me with all your heart, you will find me". (Duet 4:29) Take the Challenge.
No, other religions expect you to earn your salvation...as yours does too, as evidenced by the vitriol you guys spew at the Gay Christians.
