It matters NOT whether Haggard is a closet homosexual or not. You need to come away with two things. One, Haggard is a VICTIM who deserves our prayers and mercy, which the Cult of Hatred (AKA, liberals) is not willing to respect because liberals don't practice what they preach.

Libs will show mercy to poor Gitmo prisoners and terrorists killing soldiers in Iraq, but they won't show tolerance to Haggard because he's an evangelical Christian, which to liberals is far worse than terrorists!
First, if the Gitmo prisoners were so guilty, why were they denied fair trials, and due process. Instead, they were held with an indeterminate sentence and tortured aggressively interrogated, and were treated with all the dignity and respect of tapeworms. But it's all good, because they're the "bad guys," right? And you'll still jump up and down if you hear of our soldiers are tortured when captured, because while it's okay for us, when they do it, it's evil and reprehensible. Second, it has nothing to do with Haggard's faith. Or any imagined persecution. it's the fact that he drove countless teens to shame, self-loathing, and doubtlessly suicide, preaching God's contempt and wrath for them, while he's jumping from bathroom to bathroom, fucking guys with gay abandon (pun intended.)
Two, regardless of Haggard's hypocrisy, the point he makes it still 100% correct despite of his backsliding into purported homosexuality.

Homosexuality is 110% wrong, an abomination, and anyone practicing it should be ashamed of themselves for choosing to be unnatural and weird!
So then why would Haggard, knowing full well what he preaches, "choose" to do it? Hmmm? Seems to me that if he knew what he was doing, knew the repercussions, and knew the shame of being "unnatural and weird" he would have just CHOSEN NOT TO DO IT! I mean...I know I could choose to put a gun in my mouth, and pull the trigger, but I don't. Why? Because it's a bad idea with no benefits or any real positive outcome. So why would a person CHOOSE to be homosexual?
The fact that gays are still censurable is what's more important here, not whether Haggard's a hypocrite.
No, his hypocrisy is quite high on the list, considering he was the loudest voice of shame, fire and brimstone against us.
