Separation of Church and State is an error! It is not the ideal! The Church should guide the state, the Church law should have precedent over state law, the Bishops of the Church should be required to approve any laws proposed by lawmakers.
As for freedom of the press, error has no right! Even our modern Catechism says that law makers have the duty to make porn illegal, authentic Catholicism teaches that heresy, impurity all kinds of poison should not be freely available!
We are all Catholics first, members of that consecrated nation, that people set apart!

Sure, but the southern baptist retards won't go down without a fight. I'll sit back and enjoy as the two groups fight it out, Jerry Springer style, over who skydaddy loves more.
Speak for your fucking self..We are NOT all catholics first.
So with that said, before I check out my free porn..go fuck yourself with a Jesus penis!
If it wasn't for your damn religion burning down the Library of Alexandria, which had the early plans for a steam engine (which was not reinvented until the 1600's), we'd be about 1200 years ahead technologically. We'd have todays technology around the early/mid 800's.

But in the US that is not the case. If church law were supercedent over state law then the church would not be "guiding the state", It would be lording over it. Just another example of Christianity Uber Alles . But by all means feel free to go to war with the government over it. When all is said and done we won't miss you.

I couldn't give two fucks about your catechism. Divine right of the church died out even before the divine right of kings, the church had it's day and in the end it couldn't hold on to power then, so what makes you think it could do so now when it's just one of hundreds if not thousands of different denominations?
As loathe as I am to do so, I feel this quote is appropiate, after all "How many divisions has the pope?"
As a Catholic, I'm embarrased by people like you,markshiggins01. Just shut up
Besides Thomas Jefferson would like to speak to you.
Lets see, nation states with no seperation of church and state...
Afghanistan under the Taliban...
Saudi Arabia...
Wow, what a utopian pair of near - pardise like countries, wow.
Public stonings, beheadings, women in tents, can't get enough of that!
Um' if its all right with you markie, I'll opt for keeping them seperate. In fact I'll fight tooth and bloody nail to keep them seperate.
Thanks.
Actually we have no separation of Church and State here in the UK, we even have Bishops in our upper chamber of Parliament and yet we seem to have growing numbers of atheists, agnostics and those who while they say they beleive in God don't let it affect their every day lives.
Lets put all the Church leaders in one room and have them come up with whose church will be in charge. Just remember to leave lots of knives laying around.
We can deal with the ones that survive later.
Separation of Church and State is an error!
Well, not in the United States of America, sunshine. In the USA, the state law is the only one that matters. Perhaps in your Fundyland this is different. But this is America and we clearly have separation of church and state as it should be.
The Church should...
You can "coulda, woulda, shoulda" yourself to death but the Founding Fathers wrote the US Constitution as it stands which inclues the Establishment clause in the 1st Ammendment. You loose. Please move along.
...law makers have the duty to make porn illegal...
One man's porn is another man's art. Where do you draw the line?
We are all Catholics first...
I'm a recovering Catholic so I can easily say please speak for yourself, and only yourself, next time you decide to open your big yap.
"Separation of Church and State is an error! It is not the ideal! The Church should guide the state, the Church law should have precedent over state law, the Bishops of the Church should be required to approve any laws proposed by lawmakers."
Move to Saudi Arabia then, cunt.
Which State are we talking about? The US of A? Has the Church ever been linked with the State there?
Why should everyone be guided by Catholic Church doctrines? Why not Protestant, or Muslim, or Pagan doctrines? Who says you're right? And don't say "God", if you can't get him to personally say it to us.
What does "error has no right!" to do with freedom of the press? Porn is not the press, porn is porn, and it will always be at the fringes of society. "Modern Catechism", what modern Chatechism? And what "authentic Catholicism"? Are there unauthorized versions out there?
We in Sweden separated Church and State some ten years ago, and haven't noticed any difference, really. Only that you can now choose to exit the church and not pay taxes to it.
Later in the thread this gem can be found:
"Yes Democracy failed - a long time ago. We have operated in a Socialistic Republic under the illusion of a Democracy "
Erm, most republics are democracies. Most socialistic states are also democracies. None of those two things rule out a democracy. And if you are talking about US of A, it is most definitely NOT a socialistic republic. It is very much right-wing.
You're several centuries late, scooter. Which is just as well, because you'd not like a return to the Dark Ages much more than the rest of us. Trust me.
Your modern Catechism means jackshit out here in the real world, so please fuck off now. And I say that as an official (but wholly lapsed) Catholic.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
