Oh come on, 22, the KJV is one of the LEAST accurate versions available, made at a time when few biblical manuscripts where available and those that were available were late copies. Do a little research once in a while,
Okay, consider the German sentence "Wie geht es Ihnen?". Which of the following two English sentences is the most accurate translation:
1. "How goes it to you?"
By your standards, the second is the more accurate, since it has fewer syllables.
Least amount of syllables =/= most accurate. Besides, it's written in Elizabethan English, so it's not even a translation into what we'd call English today. For example "I will make him an help meet for him." "Meet" means "suitable". But most people don't know that - they think "help meet" means "helpmate". They sometimes even spell it "helpmeet". The RSV (which uses the same source as the KJV) translates it as "I will make him a helper fit for him".
Ummm ok. So the edited for content version King James had written up so he could divorce his wife, contrary to the pope's decree, is the most accurate?
So much for those inaccurate Hebrews, Aramaic and Greek languages, huh?
What the heck has the amount of syllables to do with anything else?
