WHAT'S THE POINT?! Putting up filters in a library ends up doing more harm than good. Not to mention that tunnel programs will make it all moot anyways. So you can piss and moan, and rattle your sabers impotently, or you can, I dunno, DO SOMETHING PRODUCTIVE. Like put efforts into staunching gang related violence. Or rehabilitating prisoners. Little things like that.
Just think of this for a moment. Suppose this becomes legal and people start viewing hardcore porn at the library. John Doe views hard porn on a PC at the library and here comes some kids walking along and stops and stares what he is viewing, or John Doe's history of sex sites are still on PC and a child or teen accesses them. Oh yeah and what about those sex pop-ups?
Then you explain to your children what they saw. Preferably NOT the "What you saw was evil, and if you ever do it, you are going to burn in hell." Or is that it? You fear actually having to explain things to your kids?

I would hope they'd have bigger fish to fry than whether their kid sees porn. Depending on the age, s/he will either not even know what it is, or will likely be curious anyways.

Define porn, then. The line isn't as simple as you think it is. Not to mention, difficult to prosecute, particularly with jurisdiction lines being blurry on the internet. Further, why? Who does it harm? And finally, the constitution protects free speech. Not just free speech so long as it doesn't offend anyone. Not free speech only on certain subjects. Free. Speech.
