*Mass. couple who led gay marriage fight to divorce*
That's GOT to be a blow to the fag movement.

Damn, nasty. I was thinking they could have saved a lot of money by staying single or homo style partners. Now they have to pay to git ur shit and git. There is irony, and it is most welcome. Pay bitches pay. Maybe the faggot judges in Massholetwoshits could be made to pay for the divorce. They caused it.

From day 1, the Goodridge case was a judicial travesty. And BTW, queer "marriage" is NOT legal in Massholechusetts, the "Gay" State. Ergo the two dykes cannot be divorced.

Except that it is, fuckface.
This has what to do with anything?
Also, saying "Pay, bitches, pay" does not make you sound like a pimp. Especially when talking about lesbians.

Yeah, a couple getting a divorce means that every similar couple has no chance. On that note, hope YOU don't plan on getting married, what with that nasty 50% divorce rate, honey...

Of course it would be easier. Most people paying alimony right now would agree. So on this basis, let's just abolish marriage altogether.

No, two people falling out of love caused it. It's no more complicated than any other divorce.

So...first you don't want us to get married, then you bar us from dissolving the relationship when it falls apart? Huh?
"And there's no such thing as heterosexual divorce. "
Exactly, why any day now this fat bastard is gonna get the fuck out of my moms house and my real dad will come back. Any day now...
[That's GOT to be a blow to the fag movement.]
Too easy.

You guys were livid when they got married in the first place, and now that they're getting divorced, you want them to suffer more .
This isn't about gay marriage at all, is it?
[Maybe the faggot judges in Massholetwoshits could be made to pay for the divorce. They caused it.]
Please elaborate.
@ GigaGuess: Good point, and what if they're divorcing because, say, one got "saved" and decided she wanted to try being ex-lesbian? Wouldn't they want it dead easy for them to cut ties then? (There's a vicious custody battle regarding a similar issue going on in Virginia and Vermont.)
As for the OP, I'd be surprised if any of these charmers ever got married. If they did, I would *not* be surprised to learn that they are divorced.
And no, it's not a blow to our movement. I just feel very sad for the Goodridges. Ironically, some couples have gotten too distracted by the fight for marriage rights to remember the people they're fighting *for*. And sometimes high-profile couples get to feeling pressured to act like they're in love when they no longer are. The Goodridges probably did precisely because of people like this.
Fucking assholes.
Typical Fundie:
Oh noez! Something about gays popped up in the news! I must immediately make a post on the internet that criticizes the hell out of it even though I personally wouldn't care what people do in their private lives, but I'm a religious fundamentalist so I'M RIGHT, THEY ARE WRONG AND IT'S MY GOD GIVEN RIGHT TO CARE!!! *deep breath* Wait a sec... That's kinda strange isn't it, when giving it some thought? Uh wait, such thoughts are too radical, I must pray for forgiveness at once!
* bends over *
Bitter, spiteful, hate-filled, evil people.
Should your Jesus exist, he wouldnt recognise you.
1) Yes, amazingly, even gay people can have divorces [/sarcasm]
and
2) Speaking as a Massachusetts resident, I can safely say that, yes, Same-Sex Marriage is, in fact, legal in out state.
"Massholechusetts". How clever!
I have no idea what the relevance of this couple getting divorced is, when, you know, they were rallying for other people's right to marry as well as their own. It's not like they were lobbying for special privileges and then all of a sudden we needed to make it apply for everyone else as an afterthought. Their individual marriage has no bearing on 1. whether they should've been allowed to marry to begin with and 2. on all of the other marriages that still live on. I know...it's hard for you to fathom when you are trying so damn hard to say "told ya so" that you don't realize that one divorce isn't that relevant in light of the huge number of divorces undergone by straight couples (in shorter time spans, too).
And I have no idea what DD is going on about, but there is indeed gay marriage in Massachusetts, and, if not, then they wouldn't need to get divorced and every other comment on there would be moot.
Goodridge v. Dept. of Public Health , 798 N.E.2d 941 (Mass. 2003) legalized same-sex marriage in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. So, yes, their marriage was legal.
Masshole is a term usually reserved for our drivers. Turn signals are a courtesy. The right hand is on the wheel. The left hand is for gesturing. Walk sognals are suggestions, as pedestrians are worse.
-a proud Masshole
Oh, *headdesk*.
I get really, really tired of that old chestnut where minorities who have finally made some headway in gaining a shade of equal rights are somehow held to a higher standard than the majority who were born into the privilege of having those rights.
Yaknow, like one bad woman driver is proof that women should not drive, whereas a bad man driver is just one individual. One muslim terrorist is proof of a degenerate race/religion, one terrorist christian is a lone loon.
Screw you.
Wait. You took the name of a brilliant songwriter and musician, as well as a well-known atheist, to promote this shit.
Hell is too good a punishment.
It was typical fundie Schadenfreude when the Jamaica Plain couple split up. Yes, same-sex marriage is legal here in Massachusetts, and has been for a few years now. I have a couple of gay friends on Facebook who are married, not to each other. And the sky hasn't fallen. It hasn't destroyed marriage in general. My parents, friends, and their friends are still married.
Confused?
