A student walked into a school and killed a bunch of kids. The parents asked God "where were you when this happened??" God answered, "they don't allow me in schools anymore". Let's not shove God out of our society only to be begging for Him to come back when it's convenient for us and on our terms. He was the foundation of this nation and should remain as our forefathers have chosen.

And how do you explain away that guy who walked into a church service and did the same thing?
See, pookums, "God" being in the building had nothing to do with it.
"A student walked into a school and killed a bunch of kids."
Oh that's not funny at all. Let me try: A Priest, a Rabbi and an Imam walked into a school and killed a bunch of kids...wait a minute...
"God answered, 'they don't allow me in schools anymore.'"
Wow, is God really that big of a pussy? I mean, "Waah, they won't allow me to be in schools, because a Supreme Court decision and the Constitution are stronger than an omnipotent being!" Really? And his reaction is to slaughter a bunch of children? What, does God have the maturity level of a fourth grader or something?
If this was supposed to be funny, it wasn't.
God answered, "they don't allow me in schools anymore"
Then god isn't love. Even if a kid hates their parents, their parents are still going to do everything in their power to keep them safe. That's the love of a parent. If people can show that kind of love, I would think it would be no problem for your asshole god.
"God answered, 'they don't allow me in schools anymore'."
That kind of contradicts the whole omnipotence thing.
No, God not existing didn't cause that to happen, your states' insistence on extreme and anachronistic interpretations of the Second Amendment caused it to happen.
My condolences to those whose lives were lost and their families. They should not have to suffer because of one student's insanity.
< they don't allow me in schools anymore >
I knew that there's got to be some sort of a weak point in this "omnipotent, omnipresent" deity...
A man walked into a church in Tennessee and killed a bunch of people there too. And he was a Christian who didn't think the other Christians were Christian enough to be allowed to be called Christians and should be killed for the good of ("true") Christians everywhere.
Perhaps people should ask God "where were you when this happened?"
Because the answer looks suspiciously like, "nowhere".
@ Nowonmai - They would explain that by it being the wrong kind of church, if you're thinking of the church shooter who just pled guilty. He shot up a bunch of Unitarian Universalists, so naturally all the fundies were pleased as punch when it happened. I'm sure there are some quotes of them gloating at the time, I recall there was at least one typically ghoulish thread on Rapture Ready.
If somebody shot up one of their churches it would be some combination of:
1. Satan
2. this horrible fallen world oppressing the Christians
3. God testing them
4. God calling his saints home and of course
5. a miracle that there were survivors and
6. (say it with me kids) Yet Another Sign That The End Is Nigh.
Where was God? A better question is "where was man(kind)?"
That wasn't an act of God, that was murder.
God answered, "I wanted to help those Columbine kids, but medammit, there were a bunch of iron chariots all over the parking lot and I couldn't get near the place."
You ask God that. I ask where the teachers were. I ask where the parents were. Not on the day of the shooting. On the days prior. No one just goes over the edge like that for shiggles. They do it because they've been pushed too far. Not to make them martyrs or tragic heroes, but their actions, in retrospect, are preventable. So go ahead. Whine to us on how God COULD have prevented it, but decided to bitch that since teachers can't lead prayer, he's barred from the schools. I hope the grown ups decide to do things that actually help.
hahahaha, considering the gunmen are normally christian, yeah, I guess i can.....no, i can't see how this makes sense
God answered, "they don't allow me in schools anymore"
So, he can only enter a building if he's invited?
So, you're saying God is a vampire!
It would explain followers like you....
A gunman walked into a church in Knoxville and killed a bunch of people. Another walked into a church near Denver and killed a bunch of people. Yet another walked into a church in Clifton, NJ and killed a bunch of people. The survivors asked God "where were you when this happened?? God? God? Yo, God - wake up!"
PS, God is perfectly welcome in schools. Fundamentalists, however, are not welcome to use schools to push their religious beliefs onto other peoples' kids.
A student walked into a school and killed a bunch of kids. The parents asked God "where were you when this happened??" God answered, "It was your child, why didn't you raise him right?"
There, fixed that for ya.
Actually, separation of church and state is mostly a matter of teachers. Since they represent the schools and the government, they're not allowed to sponsor any one religion.
The law obviously does not apply to deities.
Which means that God is either:
1. Unaware of the workings of this law [not omniscient]
2. Actually part of the government [nonsense]
3. Being a sarcastic dick [not omnibenevolent]
Parents: Where were you?
God: I was busy arranging natural disasters to slaughter thousands of people who might live near people who don't discriminate against gays. Plus, there was one effeminate guy in that school, so the shooting was my judgement on everyone who didn't beat him up.
God answered, "they don't allow me in schools anymore".
Would your God bend over if I asked him to? What if I told him, like in a REAL stern voice? Would he scream in agony when I take his cherry? Or would he just whimper like the little bitch you claim he is?
Oh, if only God had been at the Batman premiere the other night, instead of arranging for thousands of teams to beat their opponents, and fixing pregnancies and lottery tickets.
Confused?
