Fatwas are religious rulings, not specifically calling for someone's death.
Simply converting out may get you negative attention from people around you, or from the law in a few countries, but a publicized official opinion just to say "So-and-so sucks for converting, get him"? Unlikely. Not to mention they're just opinions and are sometimes not taken seriously even in their community of origin, let alone outside it.
