Everytime this accusaiton is brought up this needs to be pointed out- but folks like you just simply ignore it, Deny that those that carried out those terrible orders were infact NOT TRUE Christians, but wolves in sheeps clothing.
By that logic, you could prove that no Christian ever does anything wrong: every time a Christian is accused of wrongdoing, just redefine the word "Christian". We don't "ignore" it; we just see it for the "no true Scotsman" fallacy that it is.

Okay there is so much wrong here.
First of all secularism is not atheism, which is not socalism, which is only kind of communism.
Secondly the Crusades were Christian. And they killed more then 10,000 people. You see back then there was no secularism. The church and the state were very tightly woven. The kings were Christians, and they got their power from the church. This is why coronation ceremonies required a bishop to crown a new king. This is why kings are portrayed holding a scepter in one hand, and then holding an orb with a cross on it. That right there is the definition of theocracy.

The Church ran everything back then. Especially the governments. Of course they did things to get power and wealth. Because that's what religion is for. To get stupid people to give up their money and minds to people dressed in silly robes and hats. To become a Templar you had to give your land, house, money, everything to the Church. It was the only way to be "blessed by god".
