I have decided for the very first time to watch American Idol.
Other than being struck by so many strange people on that show, what saddens me is the large amount of homosexual and very effeminate young men I see on that show. It is downright scary.... I thought things were bad in my generation but this generation behind us is a nightmare.
No wonder the future of families is in jeopardy.
I also have been noticing a preponderance of homosexuals on alot of television shows, its almost epidemic like. Sorta like the new "fashion".

I don't watch AI because the judges are assholes and bullies (well, maybe not Paula, she's just crazy). But of course you didn't notice that, all you noticed was teh gheys (if there actually were any).
It's shocking, it really is, to see gay guys who take an interest in the performing arts! And in a group of wanna-be rock stars, some emotional, dramatic young people who put pink dye in their hair and pierce outside their earlobes! Who'd have *thought*?
Typical that she hasn't noticed contestants like the oil rig roughneck, the several parents who want to give their kids a better life, and the church music director who just lost his wife. Or, I guess those are "strange," too. Not to mention, it's so anti-family, how much those contestants talk about their parents and siblings. But if the family isn't like the one in "Fun with Dick and Jane" except with many more hours spent on Jesus, it don't count, right?
GLAAD actually says the number of LGBT characters on TV is going *down*. American Idol picks from real people, and some of them will be gay. There may even be a couple lesbians or bisexuals on the show--ooga-booga!

Clay Aiken aside, I think most of what American Idol has "produced" has been masculine of at least a moderate degree. I seem to recall that male American Idol winners (and close runners up) go on to make records that are too strongly influenced by Seventies Southern Rock, Michael McDonald, and the really dreadful Creed. I've heard cultural critics describe the show as being a "Red State phenomenon".
This may sound snobby, which I don't care because I don't like the show for so many reasons, but it seems that American Idol has the worst of luck with creating recording artists with backwards tastes. Talented, but not artistic in terms of needed creativity.

It's an extremely rare thing when I agree with a fundie, but for once I do. But not because of the sexuality of some of the auditionees. I watched Pop Idol once. Just the obnoxious attitude (even if it's merely an 'act') of Simon Cowbag was enough to put me off so-called 'Reality TV' for life (besides, 'Opportunity Knocks' & 'New Faces' did it before & better decades ago. There's no point in something that's the same). And seeing clips of the original Dutch Big Brother* on 'Tarrant on TV' ensured I'd never watch it ever. 'Reality TV' is like fundy Xtianity: it rots peoples' minds & reduces the IQ, therefore it has NO right to exist.
*- Related Factoid: Joseph Bazalgette, the civil engineer was responsible for the total cleanup of London in the 19th C. with his extensive sewage system. (his great-grandson Ian Bazalgette was a hero in the RCAF in WWII: he won the VC). First of all, hopefully your name does not represent the college b/c while you do represent the close-minde yahoo's that tend to go to this college, you far from represent the more intelligent members. Secondly, the "sanctity of marriage" died when celebrities started using marriage as a trend rather than as a sacred vow. Prove to me why a whore like Britney Spears is more honorable when she married twice and both marriages failed than a couple who has loved one another for years then MAYBE you might have some convincing power.
Homosexuals have been accepted in the entertainment industry to a larger degree than in the rest of society. No wonder then that there are many gays on entertainment shows.

Since there have always been homosexuals and effeminate men, and society seems to be trundling along fine all the same, I think you can stop worrying.
For the umpteenth time, you don't choose to be gay. You can choose to keep it hidden, though, which is what most of them have been forced to do during the last 200 years or so. The Roman empire accepted them for who they were, lots of Eastern Harems welcomed them as guards of the multitudes of wives. Then something happened in the 19th century, and every dissident had to go into hiding. Only now is the censure starting to be alleviated.
Btw, the problem with shows like American Idol is not the homosexuals. It's all the children thinking that all you really are, are your looks and your pretence at beeing "talented". What's behind your frontal bone is irrelevant in these shows. That, to me, is really scary.
