Quote# 5901

If the Muslims are so confident in their Quran, then they should not be afraid for people to comment on things they may find wrong with the wording, but instead they kill them. Doesn't sound like confidence in the Quran to me. From the beginning the authors knew it could not stand up under scrutiny, so they killed anyone who dared question its authenticity.

Well...basically, he's right. Stating truths doesn't make you a fundie. If it did, then we would all be fundies. Meh.

I would suspect that the majority of members of this forum have little doubt that Christian fundamentalists would do very much the same thing if they were in posession of the complete potical power in our society. If the individual reading this happens to be a fundy himself, you need to realize that this confidence is much of the source of the warriness felt by atheists in regard to fundamentalism of any stripe. It is simply naive on the part of a fundy who will sate in all sincerity: "Oh no, we would not do such a thing. We are good Christians." That is little comfort.

Now you just need to realize that you do the exact same thing.
