Just because your and atheist doesn't mean you can't find meaning in existence or nature.

If it boggles your mind, consume less Ether ;)

"I am the way the truth and the light, no one comes to the father but throw me"

Where should we throw you?

I just don't understand why someone would want to believe such non sense anyways.

That´s the thing I always say about Creationism/ID ;)

1. Those things are proof of evolution moreso.
2. You're not meant to have proof to have faith, that's the difference between faith and knowledge.
3. Most atheists who study at least some form of science don't have teleological views on life, hence don't believe there is meaning.

I think it's even more amazing to consider that such things emerged out of the interplay of the laws of nature rather than having had to be specifically created.

@Doug

It had to happen somewhere in the 14 billion year old universe eventually. If you believe in multiverses then life had to emerge in an infinite amount of universes, it's just inevitable because it exists.

Look what a beautiful world we've EVOLVED TO FIT.
God is the invention of man - to date WE have created over 2850 of them, and they are ALL all-powerful, all-seeing, the omnipotent and the ONE TRUE! But never put in an appearance and let thier followers do all the talking - cute.
The bible is merely a collection of distorted fairy tales as told by a bunch of bronze age goat sodomisers.

It is difficult to believe that this is not a poe. But then your average brain addled, poorly educated fundie thinks and writes like this.

Michael, you're just the reason why atheists aren't any better, I haven't seen a rape of somebodies faith like that in a while.

@ Mitch
Rape of someone's faith? Faith is belief without evidence. If history and logic destroy your faith you may have put that faith in the wrong thing.

It's faith, there is no wrong place to put it, you should respect that, secondly logic and history merely makes it unlikely for god to exist, what atheists don't understand is science can't have ANY opinion on God because he is untestable (As of yet scientific method being so far the only logical way we know of disproving something).

And that's final!

Now come on people... "Threw" and "Through" I may give you because I don't know you or your level of intelligence... but "throw"? Proof read or think a little please!

They can't grasp even the basics of biological evolution, what makes you think their spelling would be up to scratch?

A faith that allows you to hurt other human beings is a bad faith. "I have faith god wants me to kill the Jews." "I have faith that god wants me to bash this fag's head in or rape this dyke so she'll turn straight." So, yeah, sometimes there is a wrong place to put it.
Most atheist understand that you can't disprove a negative. This deist knows it as well. It's part of why I don't scoff at cryptozoology.

@Chi

As long as you can tell the difference between those who believe God wants them to hurt people and those who believe in a god, I have no problem. Generalization seems to be strangling the ability for both sides to understand each other.

@Mitch

You poor sod, you missed Michael's and Chi's points entirely.

Try this statement: "Science can't have an opinion about Santa Claus because he is untestable." Compare that to your statement. See how foolish they both are.

Now, quit arguing like a twelve year old.

@name: Exactly. I became a scientist in part because I believe that trying to understand how things in nature work gives you an even greater appreciation for them. By arguing the contrary they're as good as admitting that their view of God is as nothing more than the god of the gaps.
