Quote# 59532

"Paramedics say Charla Nash, 55, lost her nose, eyes and jaw as the crazed simian ate her alive in the driveway of her friend's Stamford, Conn., home Monday." [Daily News.]

[...]

Perhaps, from a transcendent perspective, the chimp tearing the woman's face off was NOT AN ACCIDENT. Might it be God showing us in a very real way what happens to our human identity, our eyes and our face when the animal defines us? Notice when this incident happened--right at the time the media was full of celebration for Darwin's "birthday." Accidental? Think about it ...

Just like a "christian", use someone else's tragedy as a soapbox for your own hatefulness.

And why doctors would save someone who had been so horrifically, irrevocably injured is beyond me. I would never want to be resuscitated were I in such a condition.

Oh, did I just advocate euthanasia? Oh, well.

Metatron

Thought about it.

Stupid human living with a chimp. Chimp did what chimps do.

Not accidental.

Not gawd, either.

2/23/2009 4:21:13 PM

Grigadil

Yeah yeah, now god is using chimps to do his dirty work.

2/23/2009 4:22:08 PM

Antichrist

Or "god" was showing them how stupid it was to keep wild animals as pets.

And

The Fundie GAWD: Worst god ever.

From lower down on that site
In 1978, when I was living in New York City, I returned home to my apartment and my friend with whom I shared the apartment told me proudly that, not only had he given a beggar money, but he had also invited him up to our apartment and given him some of our used clothes, because it was raining that day and the beggar's clothes were soaked and dirty. He changed in our apartment and my friend threw his used clothes in the garbage can in the basement.
I hit the roof. I can no longer imagine how many swear words came out of my mouth. I told him in no uncertain terms that this must never happen again. I screamed at him that he was lucky we weren't robbed and he was doubly lucky he wasn't beaten up or murdered.

Now what did Jesus say about clothing the naked and feeding the hungry ?

Hey, remember how God gave us dominion over all the animals?

Maybe not so much, then, huh?

And why doctors would save someone who had been so horrifically, irrevocably injured is beyond me.

It would suck, certainly, but it's far from the worst thing that could have happened to her. I'd sooner live like that than die, and I would hate to think if you were making such decisions about resuscitation on my behalf based on your own fearful imaginings.

Very good thinking, Ben W. Of, course, it will also be some indecipherable sign from God (and therefore not my fault) should I lock you in a pit with a million flesh-eating beetles. Sing praises while they eat you alive.

Think about it ...

The battle cry of deluded conspiracy theorists, celestial or otherwise, everywhere. Roughly translates to "I know this sounds insane, but just accept it wholesale without thinking about it."

Thought about it. Realized you were a moron.

Hm. *thinks* *thinks* That must be God telling us something! And it must be related to the Evolution/Creationism debate! Because that's the only fucking subject fundies can think of! And homosexuals!

[for later use: !!!!!!!!]

2/23/2009 4:39:03 PM

Well, Punches, some of us have different ideas about what wouldn't be a life worth living and I think that sometimes saving someone can be more harm than letting them go. And it doesn't take much "fearful imaginings" to see that living blind, with no face, nose or mouth, is a pretty horrific way to live. I wonder what you think could be much worse than that?

But some people always have to do this silly devil's advocate thing...that's another one of those things that I don't understand.

God's ripping people's faces off via chimps, and we should want to worship him... why?

God is telling me that you're an asshole and that you should take your "opinion", fold it until it's all sharp corners, and shove it up your ass.
