The sad thing is that this man will probably have custody over his children until they are grown up teenagers. It's a shame no one has called child services. If I were his kid, I would have taken the phone after he dialed it. They don't just take the kids away, they also send the abusive parent to jail, where this asshole would get the BEAT DOWN he deserves.

The statute of limitations on filing child abuse charges generally doesn't start until the child reaches 18, specifically to prevent such threats. It then runs for anywhere from 2 to 20 years or more, depending on the state. So dad won't be out of the woods for many years to come.
