"This country was founded on His Word, and was understood to be a Christian nation"
Your country's Founding Fathers would like a word with you:
'I do not find in orthodox Christianity one redeeming feature'
'Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear'
-Thomas Jefferson
'Religious bondage shackles and debilitates the mind and unfits it for every noble enterprise, every expanded prospect'
'In no instance have... the churches been guardians of the liberties of the people'
-James Madison
'The government of the United States is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion'
-George Washington
...you were saying? BTW, Three Words: Treaty of Tripoli.
"But the Hindu story is a myth, while the Biblical account is God’s Word"
O RLY?
"I contend we are both atheists, I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."
-Stephen F Roberts
@FMG
I'm just surprised the fundies haven't gotten their panties in a twist at Gainax about their use of Christian symbolism in "Neon Genesis Evangelion". BTW, have you seen "Soukyuu no Fafner"? It's NGE for Norse Pagans (with a few Nietzchean elements thrown in, a la "Xenosaga").
